The drug "Salbutamol" is a drug of a group of adrenoagonists acting on beta receptors. Medication refers to selective substances that affect receptors located in the bronchi.

The effect of this drug is to render them bronchodilator. This feature is used in medicine for relief of bronchospasm attacks, which occurs in a number of pathological conditions, mainly in bronchial asthma. Receptors in the heart are not activated and cardiac activity is not changed. The substance "Salbutamol" reduces the release of mediators of allergic reactions and inflammatory mediators, which also prevents bronchial edema, increasing their lumen. Pharmaceutical preparation "Salbutamol", the instruction on which application is given below, is issued in the most various forms (tablets, an aerosol, a powder).

Indications for the use of the drug "Salbutamol", instruction

The main indication for the use of the drug is bronchial asthma. The medication is used both to prevent the development of seizures, and to stop urgent conditions.

Tablets are prescribed for prophylaxis: adults - up to 4 mg to 3-4 times / day (persons over 12 years old).

Means "Salbutamol" (inhaler) are used 3-4 times / day to 3-4 mg. If an attack (acute) of bronchial asthma develops, then two inhalations of the drug must be performed. If there is no improvement within five minutes, additional inhalations are shown (2 times). Be sure to shake the device before using the medication.

Aerosol is prescribed to apply 0.2 mg to 3-4 times / day.

Indications for the use of the drug are such diseases as obstructive bronchitis, increased airiness (emphysema) of the lungs and other conditions in which bronchospasm develops.

Justified the use of the drug "Salbutamol" during pregnancy. The drug has a tocolytic effect, preventing premature birth. The medication is used for operations on the pregnant uterus and fetal bradycardia. However, this does not mean that the drug is indicated to pregnant women. It is used only on strict indications, because the side effect on the fetus still has.

Side effects

During the reception of the drug "Salbutamol" the instruction must be strictly observed, since otherwise the following side effects are inevitable:

- Tachycardia. In pregnancy, it can develop, and the fetal heart rate may increase;

- tremor;

- headache;

- Allergic reactions that develop in the presence of hypersensitivity in the patient taking the drug. All of these side effects are most often due to improper use of the drug and dosing disorders.

Contraindication to taking medication is hypersensitivity, ischemic heart disease, hyperthyroidism (increased thyroid function), the presence of hormone active tumors in the patient, heart failure, the first period (trimester) of pregnancy.

If an overdose of the drug can develop such a serious complication, such as tachycardia with a flutter of the ventricles. In such cases, it is necessary to immediately stop the use of the drug and conduct symptomatic therapy aimed at regulating cardiac activity.
