The metro station "Aviamotornaya". District Lefortovo

The metro station "Aviamotornaya" (Moscow) was opened in 1979. It is located in the east of the capital and belongs to the Kalininsk-Solntsevo line. The metro station "Aviamotornaya" is located in Lefortovo. This is one of the oldest Moscow districts.

Lefortovo

The first villages and settlements on the site of the modern district appeared in the fourteenth century. The East of Moscow in those days was a relatively quiet area. Officially, the date of foundation refers to the end of the seventeenth century. The district was named after the Russian statesman of Swiss descent, Franz Lefort.

During its long history the district was renamed several times. In addition, Lefortovo is a rather interesting part of the capital from a historical point of view. Here in 1917, fighting was fought for six days.

The metro station "Aviamotornaya" carries out exits on the highway Enthusiasts and the street with the same name. If you leave the first car in the center and pass straight ahead, you can be near the tram tracks that were laid back in the twenties of the last century.

Let's return to the subject of our narrative. What is the shape of the metro station "Aviamotornaya"? Where did the name come from?

Architectural features

The metro station "Aviamotornaya" is located at a distance of fifty three meters from the surface. In order to climb into the city, you need to drive an escalator for several minutes. Besides, it's a rather confusing station. The person who was here for the first time is not easy to find the right way out. The scheme of the metro station "Aviamotornaya" is presented below.

A station was named in honor of the builders of aircraft engines. Heim Rysin, a master whose ornaments can be seen at many stations opened in the seventies, took part in the decoration.

The walls are lined with light marble and decorated with sculptural composition. The vault is also decorated with various ornaments.

Accident

Metro is not only the fastest type of public transport, but, according to statistics, the safest. But here, unfortunately, sometimes there are accidents. A tragic event took place at the station "Aviamotornaya" in 1982. As a result of the breakdown of the escalator, several people died. A large number of passengers received injuries of varying degrees. The number of victims could be less, if not for the negligence of the subway staff. In the press, the tragedy was highlighted very laconically, which is characteristic of the Soviet period.

What's next

Near the station "Aviamotornaya" for many years there was a small market, which by the decree of the mayor of the city was closed not so long ago. On the site of trading rows, a transport and transfer junction was built. Not far from the metro there are several small office centers, shops and, as in other areas of Moscow, many fast food establishments. Near the station there is a museum-reserve "Lefortovo", a cinema "Sputnik". Other landmarks: Lefortovo Museum of History, Museum of nomadic culture. In the vicinity of the metro station "Aviamotornaya" new residential complexes are gradually being built. But there are still a lot of houses that are subject to demolition.
