As a sketch of a masquerade outfit, any detailed illustration from a children's book, a picture or even a screen from Russian cartoons "Three heroes" can be accepted. The costume consists of the following elements:

Hero's Helm

The headpiece of the ancient Russian warrior has a pointed form, thanks to which the hero's costume begins to claim a historical originality. To produce it you will need:

• Cardboard.
• Thin braid or cord.
• PVA glue.
• Paint with aluminum powder or "silver" in the spray can.

It is necessary to stock up with tools in the form of sharp scissors or a knife for paper, brushes, staplers and napkins for hands.

The very process of making a hero's helmet is as follows:

1. From the cardboard are cut out parts of the future heroic headdress. Details are glued to the allowances on the folds, which, for reliability, should be stapled from the inside.
2. In places of "seams", that is places of connection of a cardboard, it is necessary to start up a braid, having laid out its accurate pattern in the form of a fur-tree or a wave. The decor will cover the joints.
3. Then it is evenly covered with silver paint. For more elegance, the edge of the dress can be painted in gold or black. Metallic shine of the product will give a clear nail polish.

Chain and shirt

New Year's costume hero can not be without chain mail up to the middle of the thigh. You can do it in any of the following ways:

1. You can turn any armor sweater into a smooth knit. To do this, pull it onto the stool legs or another shape and cover it with a "silver" from the aerosol can. The resulting mail will be light and comfortable, but wearing it can be unpleasant because of the smell.
2. A scaly shell can decorate a hero's costume, turning an ordinary warrior into a voivode. To create it, you need to cut out the details in the form of a rectangle measuring 1x2 cm with one rounded side. As a material, you can use a very dense foil, thin linoleum, the cover of a plastic binder.

The difficulty of making "dragon scales" mail is that each part should be painted, both from the front and from the wrong side. After drying, they gently sew on a sleeveless vest from dense fabric. Rows of scales begin to lead from below in a staggered order and each next row is laid with an overlap half the length.

Another element of the bright New Year's image is a shirt that protrudes from under the hem of the chain mail for 10-12 cm and is decorated with a "Slavic" pattern. Tape with a similar decor can be found among the goods for needlework and turn into a regular turtleneck or shirt in a fabulous outfit.

Boots and pants

The hero's costume for a boy is impossible without boots with curved noses or figured tops. In shoe stores, these are not found, and individual tailoring is very expensive. But from improvised means it is possible to easily make fabric covers, which are worn over ordinary boots or even sneakers. Their manufacture consists of the following stages:

1. From a dense fabric elements of boots-deceptions on the measurements made on top of the shoe are cut out. Cutting should be done with an allowance of 1 cm.
2. The details are stitched from the inside. A piece of cardboard is inserted into the top of the boot to hold the figured edge and fixed with glue cloth.
3. To the boot, the fabric cover is attached from the inside with the help of clothing hooks or double-sided scotch tape.

Pants of the ancient Russian warrior have a cut of "training" and a solid color, without patterns and ornaments. So it is possible not to pick up a separate thing in the costume of a hero, but to get by with ordinary trousers. You can use even a part of the school uniform, after having smoothed the arrows.

Sword and shield

The fake weapons and equipment will make the outfit for New Year's party more spectacular. In addition, they can be put aside at any time to participate in active games. As a rule, the costume of the hero is supplemented with the following items:

A straight sword in a sheath. This object is cut from a sheet of cardboard and pasted with paper, and then painted. To decorate the handle, you can use rhinestones, beads or pieces of colored plastic.

Light shield. Complex forms are designed for European knights, and Slavic warriors associate circles and ovals. The decorative shield consists of several parts:

• The base is a circle of 2 layers of cardboard. Its diameter is equal to the length from the tip of the middle finger to the elbow of the boy's arm.
• Border in the form of a hoop 2-3 cm wide. Its inner edge can be cut out figuratively.
• A central figure in the form of a silhouette of the sun, a three-headed dragon or a monogram.

The elements of the shield are pasted with paper, painted and only then combined into one.

Making a hero's costume with his own hands, one must give vent to fantasy and worldly wit, allowing to give ordinary things a new purpose. And at the same time, it is important not to overdo with decorations and details. It is important to remember that the hero is a strict male image.
