The "Flemoxin" tablets. Instructions for use for the treatment of acute infections

Slender series of drugs that are basically penicillin, are constantly replenished with new fighters, who have a stronger and broader spectrum of activity. Why is this happening? For the simple reason that the bacteria against which this massive attack of drugs is directed, mutating, adapt to a new aggressive environment. This process of adaptation sometimes becomes the cause of recurrent infections, which have a more destructive effect on the body.

The preparation "Flemoxin", the instruction for its use for the treatment of various infections is presented in this article, refers to a group of such new "fighters", that is, antibacterial drugs of a wide spectrum of action, and is, in fact, an analog of amoxicillin. As an antibiotic, this drug actively acts both against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, for example, streptococci, clostridia, staphylococcus, as well as esherichia, salmonella and cholera vibrio.

The drug "Flemoxin" is prescribed for the treatment of various infections caused by bacteria sensitive to amoxicillin, among them respiratory diseases, gastrointestinal tract, various infectious skin lesions, as well as soft tissues and the genitourinary system.

However, with regard to amoxicillin, the active substance of the preparation Flemoxin, the instruction indicates a number of microorganisms resistant to its action. In particular, the microorganisms that produce penicillinase. It is also useless to use this agent to treat viral infections.

The way of using the "Flemoxin" tablets. Dosage

The taste of the "Flemoxin" tablets is mandarin-lemon, which makes it possible to conceal the bitterness of amoxicillin when taken. At the same time, the tablet is not chewed, but swallowed with water. When ingesting the drug "Flemoxin" is completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract for 2 hours, not destroyed in the acidic environment of the stomach. Therefore, it can be taken both before and after eating. If the drug is prescribed to children, the frequency of taking the medicine can be increased by dividing one tablet into several parts. Also, when taking the pill "Flemoxin" can be chewed, washed down with water. Especially capricious children can be offered "Flemoxin", previously dissolving the tablet of the desired dosage in a tablespoon of water.

With regard to dosages of taking the drug Flemoxin, the instruction prescribes adherence to both the age category of patients and the severity of the disease. In particular, for the treatment of infections of bacterial etiology of mild to moderate form, the administration of tablets to adults and also to adolescents twice a day in amounts of 250-1000 mg is prescribed.

For younger children, the dosage is as follows:

- 1-3 years: 125 mg three times a day or 250 mg twice a day;

- 3-6 years: 250 mg three times a day or 1375 mg twice a day.

- For infants up to one year, the dosage is calculated for each kilogram of the child's weight by 30-60 mg in 2 or 3 divided doses per day.

Usually the course of treatment lasts from 5 days to a week. However, it is recommended to continue taking Flemoxin also within 2 days after the apparent disappearance of the symptoms of the disease. The course of treatment of infants should last 10 days.

The drug "Flemoxin" for sinusitis is prescribed in doses of 125 mg, 250 mg or 50 mg 2 or 3 times a day. However, in each case, the dose of the drug should be prescribed by a doctor, taking into account both the severity of the course of sinusitis, and the presence in the patient's history of contraindications to the use. If after three days from the beginning of taking the drug no significant changes in the patient's condition are noted, "Flemoxin" is replaced with another drug of the same series of actions. However, most experts recommend that in the treatment of sinusitis combine the administration of "Flemoxin" with preparations containing clavuanic acid, since it enhances the action of amoxicillin.

It was also noted that the drug "Flemoxin" is well combined with mucolytics, antitussives and other auxiliary drugs that can improve the work of the respiratory system.

The way of using the "Flemoxin" tablets. Contraindications

After absorption of tablets in the digestive tract, a high concentration of amoxicillin in the liver is noted, as a result of which the instruction prescribes to reduce the dosage twice for patients with renal impairment when taking the preparation Flemoxin. For the same reason, it is not recommended to combine the reception of "Flemaxin" tablets with alcohol, since liver failure can develop in this case.

When taking the drug may be noted side effects, both from the intestine (diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, stomatitis, dysbacteriosis, hepatic cholestasis, hemorrhagic colitis), and from the circulatory system (agranulocytosis, hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia). In a number of cases, taking medication may be accompanied by disorders of psycho-motor functions, as well as a number of allergic reactions to constituent elements of the drug. When signs of side effects of "Flemaxin" appear, the drug is withdrawn.

During pregnancy and during lactation, treatment with "Flemoxin" is prescribed only if the expected benefit of such treatment for the mother is much greater than the risk of side effects in the infant or fetus.

With the simultaneous use of "Flemoxin" tablets with oral contraceptives, the effectiveness of the latter can be reduced.
