"The first teacher" Aitmatov: a summary and analysis of the work

Ch. Aitmatov managed to write a chaste story about true love. This task is unattainable for some, but it was a success for the Soviet classics. In the field of our attention was the work "The First Teacher" Aitmatov (summary).

Artist and pain of creativity

The story begins with a creative search for an artist who can not find a story for a new picture. In a melancholic state, he recalls his childhood, the Kazakh steppes, native ail and two poplars, on which he played a child. The master dreams of visiting his native places and, perhaps, defeating an unexpected creative crisis. And then he (very opportunely) comes a letter from home: in his native village a new school opens. The artist understands - that's it! The very fate holds out his hand to him. This is how Aitmatov's "First Teacher" begins (the summary, of course, can not contradict the full version).

Celebration in the village

Many people come to such a significant event as the opening of the school. But the main guest of the celebration is the artist and academician in the years Altynay Sulaymanovna Sulaimanova. It's fun at the party. Everyone jokes. The main object of jokes is Duishen. Now he is a postman, and once the old man was a schoolteacher, although he himself read and wrote with great difficulty (this was precisely what the gathered laughed at). It was in those days when the secondary educational institution was only designed, and the population of the village could not imagine why children should learn at all, for many generations lived this way - without education, only with their own labor. Dyushen was in fact a true revolutionary, and above him now laughed at those to whom he had provided not a brilliant, but still at least some sort of future.

Only Altynai Sulaimanova did not laugh, apparently understanding the historical role of the current postman in the fate of an individual ail, but the reason was not only this. It turns out that he played a huge role in her personal destiny. But the reader will become aware of this a little later, but in the meantime, the triumph is unfolding before him. However, Altynai is sad at the celebration, looking out the window at the poplars, remembering something of his own. Then the old Duishen sends telegrams with congratulations from those who received education in the country. The postman himself does not take part in the celebration - he has many letters and cases.

Altynai becomes somehow terribly ashamed, she hurries to Moscow, referring to cases. The artist accompanies her and asks if she is all right, if she does not hold any grievances against someone. Altynai says that she should take offense only at herself.

Confession of Altynai

Something is bursting from the soul of a middle-aged woman who has achieved a lot in her life, given how she started. Altynay Sulaimanova Sulaimanova decides to share this with the artist and writes him a large letter, which becomes the basis of the work "The First Teacher" Aitmatov, the summary of which is close to the main.

Altynai - illiterate orphan of fourteen years

Personal history of Altynai begins in 1924, when a strange man in black (his overcoat was of cloth of this color) came to the Kazakh steppe ail Kurkureu and said that he would create a school in it and teach her children. Local aksakals were suspicious of such an undertaking, for they did not understand the benefits of education for living in the steppe. Duyshen was adamant, so they gave up on him and were allowed to do whatever he wanted, but at his own expense.

Then the convinced Komsomol member decided that the school would be on the hill in the same room where the stable of one bai used to be.

The future academician of the USSR was still called simply Altynai, and she did not even dream of anything like that. She lived with her aunt and uncle, her parents, unfortunately, died and doomed the girl to the role of Cinderella in a strange family.

The aunt is grumpy, and the uncle is a terse one. Sometimes Altynai received slaps for her misdeeds. Of course, my aunt insulted her. In other words - the classic of the genre. Aitmatov Chingiz Torekulovich wrote a remarkable story of Soviet Cinderella in a realistic vein, devoid of all fairy-tale.

Knowledge as the promise of a better life

It does not matter that the "temple of knowledge" was located in the former stables, over which it was still necessary to work properly. Children worked in the village. Their duties, among other things, included the collection of dung (it was used as fuel in the winter). The way to the "working place" of the children ran just through the mound and the stable (the future school). When the girls (they were picking dung) went from the "change" home, they passed by the school and saw how the young man upgraded the building of the former parking lot so that it would become suitable for teaching children.

His eyes lit up, and only Altynai's soul was inflamed at the sight of the school, while the rest of her "colleagues" reacted indifferently to Duishen's undertaking. Apparently, the girl already knew then that the school is an opportunity to escape from the captivity of aunt's beatings and the general despondency of life in the village, so she suggested that her friends shove off all the dung prepared for the day, at school, so that they would not freeze in winter. However, the girls just twirled their fingers at their temples and went home, and Altynai anticipated possible dangers and left in the "temple" the entire day's "harvest". Of course, the girl was scared, because for such an act she could be brutally punished at home, but she did not care - this was the first act of free spirit in her life.

After Altynai committed a courageous act, she returned to the place of collection of dung and worked until darkness so that her aunt's punishment was not so cruel. Of course, she collected very little and paid for her courage. Aitmatov Chingiz Torekulovich in "The First Teacher" has created in some way a monument to the courage of children.

A thorny path to knowledge

A lot of effort required from the children and the teacher training, and it's not about the moral forces, but about the physical. Dyushen literally reported on himself to the school those children who in bad weather could not go themselves. This was the mentor of the guys! The work "The First Teacher" Aitmatov (a brief summary of us in this convinces us) can be regarded as a symbol of the steadfastness and inflexibility of the human will.

Unexpected marriage of Altynai and beating of the teacher

So some time passed. But Altynai's aunt was still seized by the fact that the girl goes to school, and does not help her in the household. And she came up with a cunning plan: to marry a girl to the rich mountaineers. Here the benefits are everywhere: firstly - money, secondly - in the mountains, when Altynay will be in the rank of "second wife", she will not need the letter. Thus, the spiteful aunt will still break the spirit of a proud child!

So one day, when Altynay returned from school, she found her aunt in an unusually good mood, and her uncle was drunk. He "played under the fly" in board games with thick peasants of disgusting appearance. In other words, there was a holiday in the house.

Altynay realized that she was being married. She ran and told her teacher everything, and he told her not to worry about anything, continued to go to school and stayed with her distant relatives who lived in the same village. The image of Duyshen is full of great human courage. We hope that this is what Ch. Aitmatov intended for him. "The First Teacher" is an inspirational story.

But my aunt was also not a mistake. Once she took with her strong guys and violated the calm and benevolent atmosphere of an ordinary school lesson. She planned to take Altynai by force. The teacher, of course, tried to prevent them, but he could not. He was broken by ribs, hands, badly beaten, and the girl was thrown across the saddle and taken to the mountains.

Salvation of Altynai. The final of the story

Altynay woke up in the yurt of the main kidnapper and realized that she had been "dishonored". The girl tried to get out herself, but she did very little. Then Soviet policemen came along with the bandaged teacher, arrested the villain-rapist and released Altynai. Then there was a trembling and touching meeting at the station, when Dyishen escorted Altynai to a big city - Tashkent, where she went to study in a boarding school.

They corresponded for a while. Altynai begged her teacher to come to her, told him that she loved him and was waiting. But instead he simply cut off all contacts with her, so as not to interfere with her learning.

Despite all the successes of the girl from the village, for Altynai parting with Duishenom was a deep psychological trauma, she never recovered from her. Already in her adult age, Altynai thought she saw her lover in different unexpected places. But these were only mirages of unhappy consciousness.

In all it can be concluded that this is a work of love (it is, of course, the composition of "The First Teacher"). The main characters are Duishen and Altynai.

The venerable academician ends his letter to the artist with the assurance that he will surely achieve that a new school is named after his first teacher.

In turn, the artist not only touched a wonderful and touching story, but also found a storehouse of plots for new canvases. The narrative ends with a picture: the master stands at the open window wide open and thinks about what he has read, inspired by the hope of new creative achievements.

This turned out to be a short retelling of the "First Teacher" - a work written by Chingiz Aitmatov. His works are invariably terrific both in performance and in content. We hope that this article will encourage the reader to get acquainted with other works of the author.
