"Men of Honor" (this is the name of the film) is translated as "People of Honor". What was the purpose of the translators, so simplifying the already simple English language, giving the film, in fact, a new name and changing the semantic load from the beginning? Did they consider that our people are so far from conscience, sincerity, honor, humanity that they can not understand the whole "complexity" of the expression "people of honor", and therefore simplified the name to "Military Diver"? Let this question remain on the conscience of translators, who, by the way, and the film itself were translated with distortions, albeit with small ones. However, they did not manage to spoil the pleasure of viewing. A brilliant game of a perfectly selected cast makes you truly immerse yourself in events and experience the feelings of heroes.

"People of Honor" (or "Military Diver") - a trailer that covers the post-war period (after World War II). An ordinary black boy Carl spends his childhood in poverty, looking at the hard labor of his father, trying to feed his family. Ambitious Karl refuses to plow the whole life of his life like his father and, leaving his house, decides to enlist in the fleet.

His dream is a military career. But does a black man dare to dream of such heights? His job is to carry loads, scrub the deck and cook in the galley. But Carl Breshard refuses to obey such a state of affairs, he declares his desire to become a professional diver, which already caused smirking around: "Black Diver?"

Two years of hard work, more than a hundred unanswered letters asking them to enlist submariners, humiliation and ridicule did not make Breshath give up his dream. Having finally achieved his goal, he also faces the same problems in school - ridicule and mockery. But Bill does not think to give up. After a while, his perseverance, courage and diligence make his white classmates treat Breshira with respect.

The mentor of the recruits is the old warrior and desperate pravodorub Bill Sanday, played by Robert De Niro, who became interested in young black talents. Particular attention was paid to Breshir with another heavy load. But diligence and perseverance allowed to reach the examinations, which were, in fact, to decide the future life of Charles. However, an unpleasant "surprise" awaited here too ...

"Military diver" ("People of Honor") - is not the worst representative of the genre military drama. This is a story of an outcast, overcoming prejudice, realizing his dream against all the spokes in the wheels. The story is inspiring and truthful. A perfect example of the triumphant victory of the will and the strength of the spirit of a man striving for a dream.

Probably, we could talk about some scenario shortcomings and one-dimensionality of the characters, but not where De Niro and Gooding Jr. are playing. We must give credit - very interesting turned out and underwater shooting, keeping the viewer in suspense.
