The drug "ACTS 100" ("Acetylcysteine") refers to mucolytic, expectorant drugs. The medicine is used in diseases of the respiratory system, complicated by the formation of thick mucus. The agent "Acetylcysteine" is a cysteine derivative (amino acid). The drug improves the motor system of the respiratory system.

The drug also has an antioxidant pneumoprotective effect. The drug "ACTS 100" stimulates the synthesis of glutathione, which is an important element in chemical detoxification. This allows you to use the medicine for poisoning with phenols, aldehydes and other toxic substances.

After ingestion, there is almost complete and rapid absorption of the drug. In the liver, the drug undergoes disintegration (metabolism), resulting in the formation of cystine, diacetylcysteine, cysteine (active metabolite) and then mixed disulfides.

Appointed the drug "ACTS 100" for children and adults with diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by the formation of a viscous secretion. Pathologies include, in particular, bronchitis (chronic and acute course), bronchiectasis, tracheitis, cystic fibrosis, obstructive bronchitis of chronic form.

The drug "ACTS 100" for children over fourteen years old and adults is recommended in a dosage of 400 to 600 milligrams per day. Patients from six to fourteen years old - from 300 to 400 mg / day in two doses, from two to five years - from 200 to 300 mg / day. The drug "ACTS 100" for children recommends the instruction to be administered from the age of ten. Patients under two years of age (including infants) are shown at 100-150 milligrams per day (twice or thrice a day for 50 mg).

In cystic fibrosis with a patient mass of more than thirty kilograms, the administration of the drug in the amount of 800 milligrams per day is allowed. The medicine "ACTS 100" for children under six years with this disease is recommended in a dose of 200 mg three times a day, from two to five years - 100 mg four times a day. Patients under two years (including infants from the tenth day of life) are prescribed twice or thrice a day for 50 mg.

The medicine "ACTS 100" instructions for use recommends taking after meals. The tablet or the contents of the sachet should be dissolved in half a glass of water, cool tea or juice.

Duration of treatment for uncomplicated pathologies in the acute phase, usually no more than five to seven days. Therapy of chronic diseases is carried out for an extended period or courses (up to six months one course).

The drug is contraindicated in peptic ulcers in the upper gastrointestinal tract, pulmonary hemorrhage, hemoptysis, and hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

The tool "ACTS 100" for children is not prescribed for renal failure, hepatitis.

In rare cases, the drug can provoke headache, stomatitis, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, heartburn, arterial hypotension, tachycardia, itching and rashes on the skin. In patients with hyperreactive bronchi, bronchospasm is possible. Side effects include also allergy, tinnitus.

In some cases, hypersensitivity reactions to propyl parahydroxybenzoate and methyl parahydroxybenzoate were observed. If the first signs of hypersensitivity develop, the drug should be immediately discontinued.

Caution during use should be indicated in the presence of an ulcer in the stomach or duodenal ulcer, bronchial asthma.

When taking the drug "ACTS 100" it is necessary to increase the amount of fluid used.

It is not recommended for people with intolerance to fructose.

During pregnancy, the medicine is taken only as directed by the doctor.

Simultaneous use of the drug with antitussive medicines is not recommended. This is due to the high likelihood of stagnation of mucus.
