The company "Turkish Airlines" - one of the largest carriers of the world

In the modern world, it is probably difficult to meet a man who has never traveled by plane, or, at least, to meet or escort his relatives, friends or friends.

It is always difficult to choose a carrier company. Flights Turkic Airlines (Moscow, Kazan, Peter) are quite in demand. This is due to the reliability of the airline, the accuracy of the flight schedule and the high quality of service.

Section 1. "Turkish Airlines". general information

The company "Turkish Airlines", whose name in Russian sounds more familiar "Turkish Airlines", is a popular worldwide carrier by the Turkish carrier. Its main base is in Istanbul.

To date, on average, flights are made to more than 150 airports around the world, of which 123 are foreign (European, Asian, African, American), while the others serve domestic destinations.

The International Airport. Ataturk (IST) is the main hub of the airline, the secondary ones are considered to be Esenboga, Ankara, Sabiha Gokcen.

According to official data, an average of 20 million passengers are transported during the year, despite the fact that the state of Turkish Airlines is relatively small and is represented by 12,000 employees.

Not so long ago, in the spring of 2008, this carrier became a member of the Star Alliance and at the moment can boast already of having three subsidiaries: Anadolujet, SunExpress and B & H Airlines.

It should be noted that following the results of the last year, 2012, Turkish Airlines was recognized as one of the best airlines in Europe.

Section 2. "Turkish Airlines". History of success

It is safe to say that this airline is one of the oldest in Turkey. It was created almost 100 years ago, in 1933, but at first it was called the Devlet Hava Yolları İşletmesi İdaresi, which in Russian translates to "State Aviation Administration".

In August 1933 the first flights went to Eskisehir, Istanbul and Ankara. Four years later, the airline acquires four more biplanes, which for the first time are used only on domestic flights, carrying both passengers and cargo between Adana, Ankara, Diyarbakir, Izmir, Kayseri, Istanbul and Eskishehir.

In the same year 1938, the company's management makes a decision to assign the corporation a new name: Devlet Hava Yolları Umum Müdürlüğü (DHY). These events developed in June 1938, and after that the power and influence of the carrier only strengthened.

It's time to enter the international market. The first such flight was launched in 1947 in Athens. Although it should be noted that it was only 40 years later to send its first long-haul flights to the management, when the aircraft flew first to the Far East, and a few months later and across the Atlantic.

The economic situation in the world was not the most favorable and only a colossal willpower helped to stay afloat. "Turkish Airlines" experienced a reorganization, becoming a mixed corporation Türk Hava Yolları in February 1956.

In late 1990, the management put up for sale 5% of shares, after 14 years - 23% and finally, in the spring of 2006 - 28.75%.

According to the data obtained from official sources, the following situation is observed: the state owns 49% of the shares, the rest belong to private owners.

Turkish airlines serve flights from 34 local airports in Turkey, most of which are of local importance. For example, every week 106 flights to Ankara, to Izmir - about 100, to the famous resort Antalya - 65 and to Adana - 55.

Travelers enjoy using "Turkish Airlines" services, especially after they added an AnadoluJet division, which distributes promotional tickets at very low prices.

To date, the competitors of Turkish Airlines can be considered Onur Air, Atlasjet, Pegasus and SunExpress, although 50% of the latter belongs to the carrier itself.

Most of all international flights of Turkish Airlines are made from the airport. Ataturk (Istanbul). In total, passengers can travel to around 70 countries outside of Turkey.

Long-distance flights are also being made. For example, in North America, popular destinations are New York, Chicago, Washington and Los Angeles, in South-Sao Paulo, in Asia-Bangkok, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Jakarta, Osaka, Beijing, Seoul, Singapore, Tokyo, Ho Chi Ming and Shanghai.

Speaking of our country, we can not fail to note the fact that the lack of passengers from this airline has not been observed for a long time. The most popular destinations of Turkish Airlines are Kazan, Moscow and Sankt-Petersburg.

Now the company plans to establish transport links with Alexandria, Aleppo, Atyrau, Birmingham, Washington, Lahore, Lviv, Orenburg, Toronto and Ufa.
