"The Chronicles of Narnia": actors. "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn": plot and film shootings

It was an unusual ship. His nose was adorned by a gilded dragon with open jaws. Behind him was a mast and one square sail of crimson color. Despite the fact that the ship was depicted in the picture, it seemed that it was real. After all, the blue wave that generated the movement of the ship, as if approaching. Although no, she really moved. And soon the small room was completely filled with water.

So begins the movie "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Conqueror of the Dawn", based on the famous novel. But to go to the plot of the picture and the actors who played in it, it's worth to go back a little first.

"The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe"

The beginning of the video story about the fairy world - Narnia, created by Clive Staples Lewis, was laid in 2005. Contributed to this New Zealand director Andrew Adamson, who once gave the world three parts of "Shrek". The budget of the film then was $ 180 million, and the box office fees increased this amount by approximately 4 times.

In the center of the story are four children, whom parents send to live with a friend of the family - Professor Kirk. There, the youngest and most curious girl Lucy, playing hide and seek, finds a cabinet in the professor's office and hides in it. Only it turns out not inside the cabinet, but in the snow-covered forest.

Soon she meets a strange creature named Mr. Tumnus, who drinks a girl with tea and tells a terrible story about how the fairy-tale country of Narnia, once founded by a powerful lion, was captured by the White witch, and that's why the cold always reigns here. And all the people who fall into her hands, she makes her slaves. Lucy goes home the same way, but after a while she returns to the company of three relatives who are ready to deal with the sorceress and restore peace to Narnia.

The locations of the first part

To repeat the landscapes described in the book, Adamson had to thoroughly try. He found suitable places in New Zealand and the Czech Republic. And the scene on the train was shot at once in two countries: in England and New Zealand.

There was an interesting story related to deer. The film shoots animals modeled on a computer, as local authorities have banned bringing live deer from other countries.

Prince Caspian

The second part appeared in 2008, its budget amounted to $ 220 million. True, the fees this time, pumped up, having exceeded costs only twice. The central characters again are all the same four children, and since the last events was only one year. In Narnia, given its accelerated course of time, it flew 1,300 years. And again everything is bad there.

Now the magical country was captured by the Telmarines, led by the evil usurper Miraz. Prince Caspian, without thinking twice, blows a trumpet to the Magic Horn, and calls for the help of the warlike children of Pevensey. Again they must save Narnia and restore to power the legitimate ruler.

The shooting locations of the second part

The second film was filmed not completely in New Zealand and the Czech Republic. Some moments were shot on the Socha River near the town of Bovec, which is in Slovenia. And some scenes, in general, are of Polish origin.

The total area of all the scenery was about 2000 square meters. Interestingly, one of the most ambitious scenery for the film - Miraz Castle - was built about 15 weeks. Outwardly it is a bit like the castle of Pierrefonds, located in France. In order to strengthen the greatness of the design, its dimensions were increased three-fold. And over the costumes of the characters worked 70 people.

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

And, finally, the third film, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn, appeared in 2010. But unlike the previous two paintings, this director was Michael Aptid, known for the films "And the whole world is small," "Enough is enough for me," and "Extreme measures." The shooting was spent $ 155 million, and nearly three times more. This film lost several characters, but at the same time, new actors were added. "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn", by the way, is the only three-part, released in 3D. Although there were no special stereoscopic effects there.

The saga returned with a new story that begins with the sailing of Lucy and Edmund Pevensey, as well as their cousin Eustace and King Caspian on the ship "The Conqueror of the Dawn." In general, it was so.

Once Lucy's attention is drawn to the picture, with the ship depicted on it. And only she has time to notice that the ship is like from Narnia, the guys are washing away the flow of water, and they are in the open sea. For a long time they did not have to flounder, because the "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" arrived right away and the teenagers were brought aboard.

Naturally, a meeting with old acquaintances happened for a reason. There is a reason for this. Surely they are facing difficult challenges again. Only these children will be able to determine the fate of Narnia, performing another dangerous mission. And this time they will have to find seven lords, friends of Prince Caspian's father, whom Miraz once expelled.

The locations of the shooting of the third part

This time the film was to be shot in Australia in Queensland. There, and went to the crew and actors. "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Conqueror of the Dawn" was ready for 3 months, i.е. It took less time than creating the first two paintings. In parallel, some of the scenes were filmed in a studio in the city of Gold Coast. And that same "Conqueror of the Dawn" was created on Cape Cleveland Point. Part of the filming took place in the open air, and then the design was dismantled and sent to the studio to continue work on the film.

Making a movie

Above the screenplay, Michael Petroni (Dangerous Game, 2002) and the duo of American screenwriters Christopher Marcus and Stephen McFeely (Thor 2: The Kingdom of Darkness, 2013, etc.) worked on the screenplay. The operator was Dante Spinotti, known for such films as "Los Angeles Secrets", "Family Man" and "Johnny D". And the soundtrack dealt David Arnold. His creation can be heard in several series of "Bond", as well as in the film "Independence Day".

Actors "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn"

The cast of the last film has undergone slight changes. For example, William Mosley, who played Peter Pevensi, the elder brother of four children, and Anna Popplwell, who performed the honorary role of the elder sister, did not hit the ship. Thus, the younger children remained - Lucy and Edmund Pevensey - the queen and the king of the Golden Age of Narnia.

Also in the new part was Simon Pegg. He played a role, more precisely, voiced the brave Reepicheep, who manifested himself in the great battle at the end of the second film. Only there the voice actor was engaged in another actor. But this time the leadership of the picture refused from his services, and Simon Pegg became the voice of Repichip.

By the way, and without Benjamin Barnes (acting king of Narnia Caspian X) has not managed. Where, really, because he decided to go in search of the missing lords, whom his uncle once expelled.

And Nathaniel Parker played in the film of Caspian's father. A small role. If you do not look carefully, you can not notice it there. But the actor received serious roles in such projects as, for example, "Star Dust" and "Brave Heart of Irena Sendler." And Nathaniel Parker was the uncle of King Arthur in the series "Merlin".

Will Poulter in the film got the role of the unpleasant cousin of Pevensey - Eustace Wreda. On the ship, he got with Lucy and Edmund, but the only one was extremely unhappy about it. In addition to this picture, Poulter starred in the films "Running in a maze", "Son of Rimbaud", "Survivor", etc.

Gary Sweet became Lord Darien, who was the captain of the Voyage of the Dawn Treader. But his film career is not limited to this. The actor can also be seen in films and serials: "Secret Attraction", "I Tied Up", "Blue Healers", "Pacific Ocean", etc.

Finally, it is worth noting the role of Lord Rupe, which was performed by Bruce Spence. He is the only one from the missing friends of Caspian's father who was conscious, albeit not in full. He had to participate in the filming of such films as "The Lord of the Rings 3", "Ace Ventura 2" and "Star Wars 3". There were also series "Legends of the Seeker" and "All Saints".

In general, there are rumors that the fourth film from the series "Chronicles of Narnia" should appear soon. It seems that even the script is over and the actors are selected. "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Conqueror of the Dawn", apparently, expects the continuation of the story. But the date of the premiere at the moment is not indicated.
