The child has bronchitis. How can we treat it?

With the onset of autumn days it gets colder, and then trouble happens - the child has bronchitis ... Parents, of course, do not have time for poetry, because they want the baby to grow up healthy. Moreover, the appearance of bronchitis can lead to long-term complications, and the disease itself can not be cured so simply. Disease "acute bronchitis" a child, 2 years old who has been executed, is much more exposed than his mother or father. Why is this happening?

The causes of bronchitis in children are always the same: immunity, features of anatomy and surroundings. Do not forget that the "adjustment" of the children's organism for the upcoming adult life will continue for many more years. While the immune system of your child does not work at full strength, she is not yet able to recognize the attacking organism of the infection and give it an effective rebuff. This is in the first place. In a child, especially the first years of life, the bronchi are shorter and wider than in an adult. Consequently, the path of infection to the target is easy and short. Especially in damp and cold weather on the street, in the air dried by central heating in the room, after regular communication with other children, and even with parents who smoke at the baby.

The fact that the child has bronchitis, it becomes clear not immediately: he, artful, artfully disguised as the most common cold. While the viruses develop inflammation before the mucosal reaction in the form of sputum discharge, and a dry cough will appear, along which it will be possible to recognize the enemy, will take two to three days, and time will be lost. So call the doctor right away, at the first sign of a cold. The earlier treatment begins, the lower the likelihood that bronchitis will appear at all.

Cough is a warning signal: the body has turned on a protective mechanism and tries to prevent the infection that has spawned on the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract, penetrate deeper and reach the bronchi and lungs. After such a warning, a visit to the doctor can not be postponed. Even if before that the cold flowed quite tolerably and was treated with home remedies. Any selftreatment from the good parents is unacceptable! Especially antibiotics. You will have only a 5% chance to cope with the disease, because the child's bronchitis (as in the adult) is overwhelmingly caused by a viral infection, against which antibiotic drugs are powerless. So that evil viruses will survive, but good microorganisms, forming a natural protective barrier from pathogens, will die. Another thing is, if antibiotics are prescribed by a doctor - then this is a necessity.

A special warning to parents: do not even try to completely suppress coughing! And consult a doctor even about innocuous, it would seem, candy from a cough. In this case, independent decision-making is unacceptable. Tell me, are you sure that your child has bronchitis? And if it's masterfully masked for it and heavier bronchial asthma, whooping cough or false groats? With them, suppression of cough will contribute to a more severe course of the disease.

In fact, to alleviate the condition of a sick child, give him an emollient and a cough. Do not forget to carefully read the instructions attached to the drug. Because antitussive drugs will be appropriate for dry cough, but not at wet.

Remember also that bronchitis develops quickly, but the health of the child after it is restored slowly. Even when the disease has receded, both strength and immunity will be fully restored only after a month and a half.
