The Champavat tigress is a killer beast that has caused many nightmares

The most famous tiger in the world is the Champavat tigress. Unfortunately, she got her fame not for good deeds. Death and destruction are her only merit. There is no animal in the world that can compare with it in the quantity of spilled blood.

But what caused the tigress to enter this path? Is an animal not to be afraid of man and his weapons? And why did her atrocities last for so long without proper punishment? So, let us return to the past and learn the whole truth about who the Champavat tigress was.

Birth of a bloody beast

It all began in one of the forests of Nepal at the very beginning of the twentieth century. No one knows exactly where, but in one of the tiger families a normal female, at first sight, was born. She grew and developed the same way as all her relatives: jumped, jumped and hunted the usual game. But one day something happened that forever changed her fate.

On one of the hunts (no exact information) she broke the upper and lower canine. Such a trauma led to the fact that the Champavat tigress lost the ability to keep her game in a dead grip. So, now it will often be without food.

And so, hungry and pissed, she scours around the area in search of easier prey. And her search is crowned with success - she meets a man. It is not known exactly where this meeting took place, but its outcome is obvious: a man lost to the beast, thereby showing the tiger a new way of hunting.

The killer, horrifying the whole of Nepal

And so, led by the thirst for blood, the Champavat tiger-eater begins to look for new hunting grounds. It should be noted that at first she was very cautious in developing her attack strategy. Tigress did not attack groups of people and always jumped out of ambush, thereby discouraging the victim.

But over time, she realized that a person can not give her the proper rebuff. And so her methods became more open. Now she no longer held back, tearing everyone in her path. And the more people she killed, the tougher and more often her attacks took place. According to preliminary estimates, about 200 inhabitants of Nepal died from its claws.

Such a tragedy forced the authorities to take action. They sent a regular army in order to catch the beast. But they could not cope with the task. The only thing they did was to drive her out of her country, to India.

A dark spirit taking the lives of Indians

Expelled from their native lands, the Champavat tigress did not abandon its bloody business. She moved from one place to another, leaving behind her a trace of human corpses. Her belief in her own impunity led her to hunt in the villages.

Most of its atrocities took place in the region called Kumaon. Apparently, it was here that she decided to equip her house. It should be noted that the Champavat tigress ideally studied its territory, so that all attempts to kill it ended in failure.

It was also very important that the locals were very much afraid of this beast. They believed that there was a dark spirit in him, which meant that he could not be killed with simple weapons. So all they could do was hide and run. This behavior led to the fact that in a few years the tigress managed to kill about 210 people.

According to the records of those years, the monster walked from village to village, warning of its approach with a menacing roar. She did not hide and did not avoid meeting with groups of people. Seeing a suitable prey, she rushed to her and tore, then calmly walked back into the jungle. But in one day everything changed radically.

Death of the Champavan tigress

It's amazing how in one moment the fear can turn into an unprecedented determination. Similar happened to the inhabitants of one of the Indian villages, when they saw how the Champavat tigress in front of their eyes had torn the 16-year-old girl.

The blood in their veins literally boiled, and they were no longer afraid of the wild beast. And he felt it, because he ran to the forest with lightning speed. But it was too late, the people's anger was not appeased. Therefore, without thinking twice, they organized a round-up on a formidable cannibal.

And in 1911 the Champavat tigress, who killed 436 people, was tracked down and killed by a certain Jim Corbett. Accuracy and bravery of the English hunter could stop the bloody terror of the beast, thanks to which people finally managed to sleep peacefully. As for Jim himself, he devoted his entire life to hunting cannibals, which made him a true hero of that time.
