In the Tambov region, on the territory of Muchkap district, there is a unique natural object - one of the most southern cranberry groves in the world. In the vicinity of the village of Savino you can see a relic peat bog, bordered on one side by a lake. This is one of the few bog massifs in the steppe zone of Europe.

Michurinsk is a provincial and very colorful city. On its streets you can see many gypsies in bright outfits, tearing off from the trees juicy and beautiful apples, bred a hundred years ago by a famous breeder.

Tourists in this science city are frankly few. And very sorry! After all, the city deserves to have on its streets numerous clicks of cameras and enthusiastic exclamations of visiting travelers.

Of course, the main attraction of Michurinsk is the house museum of Ivan Michurin with a garden. The famous botanist specially bought this land for his research and selection studies. Ivan Vladimirovich, by the way, was so keen on his business that he did not even notice the two revolutions of 1917, which radically changed world history. "They somehow passed me by," he later wrote in his autobiography.

Undoubtedly, tourists deserve attention in Michurinsk and two sacral buildings. It is the Ilyinsky church with an elegant and very high spire and the majestic Bogolyubsky Cathedral, which can accommodate up to five thousand people.

Attractive is the city itself, in the historic center of which several dozens of beautiful brick buildings of the XIX-XX centuries have been preserved.
