The basis of guitar sounding is the setting of the scale

Guitar music is just the working length of a single string or strings in the aggregate. This term refers to the length of a string from a bridge to a paddle. On electric guitars this length is usually 648 mm (which is 25.5 in inches), for bass guitars the length of the string is 864 mm (or 34 inches). What is characteristic, the length of the string does not depend on the number of frets, since the twelfth fret will always be exactly in the middle. It is for the reasons listed above that we can conclude that a qualitative and reliable setting of the scale is the key to good guitar sound in general. And it is worth considering. Adjusting the bezel allows the guitar to hold the system more accurately and for a long time, which is convenient and useful for both performances and home everyday use.

The concept of adjusting, or adjusting the guitar scale, involves changing the length of each string individually. This is done so that every note at any point of the guitar's neck exactly "built". You can often hear the phrase "guitar does not build" - it means only that some notes are not accurately sounded on the neck. The easiest way to conduct such a procedure is to tune the electric guitar or acoustic guitar in the tuner.

The tuner is an electrical, mechanical or electromechanical device designed specifically to measure the frequencies of individual notes. In more simple terms, it is an instrument that determines the sound of a note.

Before proceeding to the direct adjustment of the scale, you need to adjust the bridge and the guitar anchor. Naturally, if this is possible on your instrument. This is done to set the correct, optimal distance from the neck to the string on the electric guitar. Anchor - a screw, screwed into the end of the neck (in the place where the head of the neck is located). Adjust the distance from the neck to the strings is simple enough. If your electric guitar is hard, then this bridge will be regulated by two screws. Therefore, in this case, all the strings will be adjusted at once. It should be noted that it is extremely necessary to leave the string a place for oscillation. Otherwise, the sound will be of poor quality and contain certain sounds.

To fine-tune the bezels, connect the electric guitar to the tuner. After connecting, play the first open string. The digits on the tuner screen (or arrow) should show the note Mee. Next, we tighten the twelfth fret of the first string. The electric guitar usually has high expectations. If everything is good, then the tuner should show the same result.

There are only two basic rules for conducting a procedure, such as setting the scale:

  1. When the tuner's readings are less than necessary, the string should be shortened.
  2. If the tuner shows more than necessary, the string should be lengthened.

Adjusts the electric guitar's scale with a conventional screwdriver. Do not forget to move the sliders. By unscrewing the screw, the string will be shortened. Twisting - respectively, lengthen.

In the absence of a tuner at hand, you can try to tune the guitar's scale by ear, using flajolets on the twelfth fret of each string.
When adjusting the bezel, it should be remembered that sometimes old strings can not be adjusted in practice due to heavy wear and tear.
