The first models were created as trial versions, which smoothly tuned the musicians to more powerful instruments - electric guitars. The amplified sound in comparison with acoustics was so fond of it that in a fairly short period of time they became quite popular and popular. Already in 1949 two new models of high-grade semi-acoustic guitars were released, in which electric pick-ups were built.

After 10 years, other manufacturers began to take up the manufacture of this kind of tools, Rickenbacker became the most important competitor of Gibson.
