The analysis "Do not shoot the white swans" by Boris Vasilyev

Boris Vasiliev became the spokesman of Orthodox morality in Soviet literature. He expressed his position not declaratively, but as the holy fathers did in his parables. Examples of non-stylistic attitude to the life of the heroes of this Russian writer are not edifying moralizing - even positive characters are by no means ideal. But they carry in themselves a way of life righteous. This leads to the simplest analysis. "Do not shoot at white swans" - one of the works that illustrate the Orthodox idea in the work of Vasiliev.

about the author

The writer of the Russian land was born in Smolensk, in 1924. His parents were noblemen, his father was an officer who served in Tsarskoy, and then in the Red Army. When the war began, Boris Vasiliev volunteered for the front, served in the fighter battalion, then in the landing troops. After a concussion he studied at the military academy, tested new examples of armored vehicles. In 1954, he realized that his vocation was literature, retired from the army and began to write, at first only scripts. The performance "Officer" - the first test of the pen - was too bold for its time and was banned. However, the manners were not as cruel as recently: the author-front-line soldier had a chance. After the feature films "Next Flight" and "Long Day" there was a long, almost ten-year pause, and then the picture "Officers" conquered the hearts of the audience. Love her today.

The time of prolonged creative idle time was hard, the writer worked part-time as much as he could (scenarios of KVNs, newsreels, etc.), but he never taunted and was true to his life principles. The most striking pages of his military prose were the play "A Dawns Here Are Quiet ...". Peaceful life is devoted to the story "Do not shoot white swans." The analysis of the work speaks of a single ideological line that pierces all the creativity of this remarkable author.

Main character

Egor Polushkin is a romantic by nature. In the countryside, with its practical life, this bright character property is not appreciated. It seems that Vasiliev ("Do not shoot white swans") wrote about the contradiction of utilitarianism and irrational desire for beauty. An analysis more detailed, however, suggests a more profound artistic goal of the author. Egor is not just a romantic - he resists acquisitiveness. He is abhorred by earnings at any cost, and this is manifested in all his actions. Such, perhaps, often considered stupid, but in fact this person can not do the job without investing his whole soul in it. The analysis of the story "Do not shoot white swans" directly indicates that we are a talented person who differs from others in his desire for creativity. Priority of self-expression before profit for Yegor is quite natural, because he looks like a person "not of this world". For whatever he undertakes, everything tries to be done in his own way, unconventionally and beautifully. Instead of approved numbers on boats - little animals and flowers. Now every boat can be distinguished, but the boss does not like this way of marking, and all the pictures are ordered to paint over. Egor is called "Bedlonets", he really has enough troubles.

Yegor's family

The wife of Polushkina is called unusually - Haritina (she was called by that name at baptism). All would be nothing, if it were not necessary to use the abbreviated form in everyday communication. Bad neighbors call her Harey, and her sister prefers to use her pseudo-border "Tina". She is a good woman, but she does not understand her husband and even dares to part with him. However, later she realizes with which person she lives next door.

Sister, Marytz, was the initiator of the move of the Polushkin family to the village, where her husband received an enviable forester's place. Fedor Ipatovich Burianov is an important person, the distribution of timber depends on him, and he does not forget about his interests. The image of the acquaintance was deduced in his person by Boris Vasiliev ("Do not shoot white swans"). An analysis of his personality leads to a depressing conclusion that he does not know such a notion as conscience. He mercilessly exploits the brother-in-law: he builds a strong house for him, having received a hut in his place. The forest was stolen by a "big boss".

Sons

At Polushkin, Kolya's son grows, to which the definition of "clean-eyed" fits. The guy looks like his father, but raniem it, he has a strong sense of empathy. The boy shows creative inclinations: he writes poetry, which the father uses for unobtrusive agitation for a careful attitude to nature. The complete antipode to him is the "heir" of Voryoka Burianov, who is never suffering from empathy, seeking to snatch his benefits and often weeps from his grievances, real and imaginary. Analysis of the novel "Do not shoot white swans", from the point of view of continuity of generations, is unambiguous, "conflict of fathers and children" is not expected. However, it arises in Kolka and Egor, but due to the fact that the protagonist once drank his face and behaved unworthily. The son is so honest that he is not afraid to express his views on the situation, for which he gets it by the neck. Vovka is obviously not capable of such an act. He is very enterprising and even - not unsuccessfully - trying to trade a puppy, which he was going to drown.

Colleagues and superiors

Polushkin is surrounded by people of strangers, who do not understand him and are insignificant - the idea is prompted by the simplest analysis. "Do not shoot at white swans" - a story about the struggle of cunning with wisdom, money-grubbing with disinterestedness, dull practicality with a desire for beauty. In addition to the aforementioned roguish Burianov, there are Filia and Skorok in the story - "friends" -shabashniki, they willingly drink with the protagonist, but are equally vigorous against him when Yegor, driven by compassion, prevents the predatory conditions exposed to the rural teacher for the repair of her poor Dwellings. Sazanov, who served as the head of the boat station, refers to Polushkin tolerantly, but to a certain extent, until he crosses the boundaries formed in his mind by "vital fatigue." In other words, he is a narrow-minded person.

Conflict

Without conflict there is no plot, and, of course, it has arisen, it remains only to conduct its analysis. "Do not shoot at white swans" -this is the title of the story, and not for the sake of a red glimpse are beautiful white birds mentioned in it. They became a symbol of the deceived goodness that the main character wanted to bring to people. To return the Swan Lake to its beautiful inhabitants, he buys birds. His opponents, even, rather, enemies, do not come up with the best application for them, except as a gastronomic one. They stifle the fish, kill the swans and do not stop before eliminating such an insignificant, in their opinion, obstacles, like "some kind" Polushkin. This "bulldozer" psychology finds expression in the previous conflict that erupted because of the burned anthill, during which Yegor behaved unworthily.

Hope

There are two more important characters, which B. Vasiliev ("Do not shoot white swans") brought out in his story. An analysis of the images of Yuri Petrovich Chuvalov and rural teacher Nona Yuryevna speaks about the high decency of both heroes. Each of them is honestly engaged in their own business, they meet, and a serious relationship is established between them. They develop not without problems, but in the end everything ends successfully. It is characteristic that both Yuri and Nonna have a friendship with Egor. It serves as a touchstone, although the guy himself is not inclined to confrontation, but, on the contrary, shows truly Christian humility in his opposition to evil. The images of two young people living in harmony with their own souls and the surrounding world create a joyful background, without which the finale of the work would look too pessimistic.

The final

Yegor again acted irrationally, having entered into the conflict and went alone against drunk and cruel poachers (he was not capable of any situational analysis). "Do not shoot white swans" - the title-call, with which the author addresses all people, warning them against cruelty. For his love for the beautiful, the main character paid with his life. Before his death, on a hospital bed, he forgives Fedor Ipatovich, absurdly came to him "to put up" with a bottle of French expensive cognac. He did not give out his sincerity to the investigator of his killers. Vengefulness is not in the nature of Polushkin. Indicative is the image of Fili, who walks to his grave and takes care of her.

Will the lake be again Swan? Kolk's son remained on the ground, loving everything living and beautiful. He is all hope.
