The Air Force of the Russian Federation: their structure and general characteristics

A bit of history

The history of the air force in the modern understanding begins in 1998. It was then that the Air Force, which we know today, was formed. And they were formed as a result of the merger of the so-called air defense and air force troops. True, even now they are no longer as such. Since the past, 2015, there is a VCS - Aerospace Force. Combining units of space and air forces, it was possible to unite the potential and resources, as well as concentrate the command in one hand - due to which the effectiveness of the forces also increased. Structure

The Air Force of the Russian Federation (still it is more customary for many to call them as long as the VCS), include many units. This is aviation, as well as radio and anti - aircraft missile forces in the first place. This is the birth of the Air Force. Special forces are also included in the structure. To be more precise, the whole beginning of the year is progressing in 2009. It was then that fruitful and capital work began on the repair and modernization of the whole fleet of the Russian Air Force.

Perhaps the impetus for this was the statement of the commander-in-chief, AN Zelin. In 2008, he said that the aerospace defense of our state is in a catastrophic state. Therefore, the purchase of modern, new aircraft equipment and the improvement of the whole system began to be made.

Symbolism

The Flag of the Air Force is very bright and notable. This is a blue cloth, in the center of which there is an image of two silvery propellers. They seem to overlap with each other. Together with them the anti-aircraft cannon is also depicted. And their background is silvery wings. In general, quite original and symbolic. Even from the center of the cloth, golden rays (there are 14 of them) diverge. By the way, their location is strictly regulated - this is not a chaotic choice. If you include fantasy and imagination, it begins to seem as if this emblem is in the middle of the sun, blocking it - that is why the rays.

And if you look into the history, you can understand that it is. Because in Soviet times the flag was a blue cloth with a golden-colored sun, in the middle of which a red star with a sickle and a hammer in the center was depicted. A little lower - silver wings, which seem to be fastened on the black ring of the propeller.

Interesting Facts

It is worth noting that the Air Force of the Russian Federation together with the US Air Force planned joint anti-terrorist exercises in 2008. This was to happen in the Far East. The scenario was planned as follows: terrorists seize the plane at the airport, and the troops prevent consequences. The Russian side was to lead to action four fighter aircraft, search rescue services and an aircraft of long-range radar detection. The US Air Force required the participation of a civilian airliner and fighters. Plus the notorious plane. However, shortly before the planned event, just a week later, it was reported that the exercises were decided to note. Many believe that the cause was the aggravated relationship between NATO and Russia.
