The terrarium for the red-bellied turtle must necessarily be well and competently equipped with a certain design and equipment. A red-bellied turtle is considered to be a water animal, but it still needs a land, at least a small island. Of course, the water area itself is very important for the animal and must necessarily dominate the land area. That is why turtles need red cocks in a terrarium where they can afford not only to swim freely, but also to "sunbathe" on their own islet.

What should be provided to the animal?

As a rule, an adult turtle requires at least one hundred and fifty liters of water volume of its terrarium. Add to this the land area, which is equivalent to about a hundred liters. That is, the terrarium for the red-bellied turtle must be a total of two hundred and fifty liters. This calculation is minimal. If you have the opportunity to give the animal more water, then this is a huge plus. The principle is actually very simple, because the more water the terrarium contains for the red-bellied turtle, the clearer and cleaner it is, the longer it retains the proper qualities, and the turtle will only get better from it. As a rule, the depth of water can vary from thirty to eighty centimeters. When you choose a terrarium for a red-bellied turtle, please note that it is impossible to look away from a tall aquatic turtle with a floating tortoise inside! It's really amazing. To keep the red-bellied turtle, the total width of its tank should not be less than forty centimeters. As for the fashionable cubic, triangular or angular shapes that the turtle can have for the red-bellied turtle, it will be absolutely inconvenient for such a turtle. Therefore, one should think first of all, of course, about the animal.

Necessary equipment

Equipment for any terrarium should include the following:

1. Special lamp with a safety ultraviolet lamp.

2. Lamp with a mirror incandescent lamp (40 W).

3. Water heater with thermostat.

4. Precise liquid crystal thermometer.

5. Quality filter.

In order to make a basic design of the terrarium, you will need:

1. Mat with beautiful artificial grass, made on a rubber base. This piece of furniture is glued to the land with silicone glue, which is designed for gluing aquariums.

2. Background. In order to do it, you can use different specialized films with beautiful images.

3. For the ground it is recommended to use not sharp, but large stones, so that your turtle does not swallow them. The film needs to be cut to the exact size of the rear window and secured with decorative frames and special black scotch tape. For exclusive design, you can buy artificial colored snags. They are made, as a rule, from plastic. These snags are easily glued to the terrarium glass and give the entire underwater landscape a chic, three-dimensional appearance.

4. Terrarium plant. It is a beautiful artificial twig with leaves, a tree or a bush. The plant should be mounted parallel to the filter tube over the water.
