Helminthiases are very common diseases. It is believed that about 70% of all people suffer from them. This is because it is very easy to get infected by parasites, and it is rather difficult to determine the disease by external signs. Symptoms of helminthiases resemble other diseases, so not all begin treatment on time. And many doctors recommend twice a year to take preventive courses against helminths. There are a lot of medicines for this now, often doctors prescribe some of them for the patient's choice, since the action and contraindications for most drugs are the same. Therefore, many people ask themselves: "Nemozol" or "Decaris" - which is better? After all, it is these medicines that doctors prescribe most often.

General information about helminthiases

This is a group of diseases caused by helminths. There are more than 250 species of parasites that infect humans. The most common are ascarids, pinworms and lamblia. More dangerous parasites, inhabiting the liver, brain, lungs and muscles, cause dangerous damage to these organs. True, they are much rarer. But ubiquitous ascaridosis and enterobiosis can also cause serious health problems. The danger is that often the symptoms are so greasy that the patient does not always go to the doctor, feeling sick, weak, headaches or worsening of appetite. With helminthiasis, dyspeptic disorders, depression and allergic reactions can also be observed. Untimely detection of the disease and lack of treatment can lead to serious complications. And catching parasites is fairly easy - through dirty hands, from unwashed vegetables and fruits, poorly processed meat and dairy products, through water or pets. And so doctors recommend that twice a year they undergo preventive treatment of helminthiases. Effective drugs for this there are many. It is better to choose the most tested and safe. Just need to consult a doctor. Most often the patient faces a choice: "Nemozol" or "Decaris" - what is better to take?

Characteristics of anthelminthic drugs

Most anti-helminthic drugs act on parasites at the cellular level. They can block the proliferation of helminths, their nutrition or paralyze muscles. Depending on the active substance, various drugs destroy parasites, their worms and larvae. They can cleanse the body of helminths and the products of their decomposition or just kill them. In the latter case, the intake of adsorptive and laxatives is required. All anthelmintic medicines are divided into groups according to the main active substance:

- on the basis of prazikvantel there are preparations "Biltricid" and "Prazikvantel", which paralyze helminths;

- "Nemozol", "Gelmadol", "Vormil" with the active substance albendazole destroy parasites and their larvae;

- levamisole is the basis of the drug "Decaris" and besides antihelminthic it also has an immunostimulating effect;

- Vermox, Vermokar, Vormin and Mebex contain mebendazole. It disrupts the process of cellular nutrition of helminths and causes their death;

- paralyzes the musculature of the pyrantel parasites, which is part of the preparations "Nemocid", "Helmintox" and "Pirantel";

- there is still a long-known "Piperazin", but it is active only against pinworms and ascarids.

The most common antihelminthic drugs are Pirantel, Decaris, Vermox, Nemozol. The instruction to these medicines characterizes them as quite safe and effective against most parasites. But they need to be taken only after consulting a doctor. Most often appointed "Nemozol" or "Decaris". Which is better, it is difficult to say, since they, having a similar principle of action, have their pros and cons.

The drug "Nemozol"

The active ingredient of this drug is albendazole. It acts on helminths at the cell level, blocking their metabolism and reproduction. This leads to the death of parasites. "Nemozol" is effective against most known helminths: nematodes, trematodes and chains. In addition, it leads to the death of some protozoa: lamblia and echinococcus. The drug is active not only against adult parasites, it also destroys their eggs and larvae. "Nemozol" is poorly absorbed when taken orally, but this process can be improved by taking the drug along with fatty foods. Albendazole binds to plasma proteins and gets into different tissues and body fluids: urine, spinal fluid, bones and others. The drug is produced mainly with bile, but partly with kidneys. Therefore, patients with renal and liver failure with caution should take "Nemozol". Analogues of the drug - "Sanoxal", "Helmodol" and others - have a similar effect and have the same contraindications, since all are based on albendazole.

Nemozol: instructions for use

This is a very strong antiparasitic drug effective for most helminthiases: ascariasis, enterobiasis, ankylostomiasis, opisthorchiasis, toxocariasis and others. Also, it is active when infected with lamblia and echinococcus. But because of this, not everyone can take Nemozol. Analogues of it are sometimes less effective, but do not cause such side effects. Therefore, this drug can be prescribed for advanced and mixed helminthiases for adults and children over 2 years of age. Usually they drink one tablet of medicine while eating. Those who followed all the recommendations, note that they felt better and did not need additional intake of adsorbents or laxatives. And in those cases when the patient doubts: "" Nemozol "or" Decaris "- which is better?", Often the choice falls on the first drug. After all, it is more effective and destroys almost all parasites known to science.

The drug "Decaris": a characteristic

This anthelmintic medication is based on levamisole. The drug is active mainly against nematodes and causes paralysis of their musculature. It starts to act quickly, and paralyzed parasites are removed from the body through the intestine. But in some cases, additional intake of adsorptive and antihistamines may be required, and if there is a violation of the motility of the gastrointestinal tract, laxatives are also needed. But the advantages of "Decaris" include its good tolerability and positive influence on the immunity of the patient. Therefore, when choosing the treatment of the most common helminthiases often stop on it.
