Symptoms and treatment of seborrheic dermatitis

Seborrheic dermatitis - a fairly common skin disease , which is chronic. The disease is seasonal, in summer there is relief, and autumn brings an exacerbation. Among the youngest, this dermatitis is observed more often at the age of the first year of life, the next peak period is from 12 to 17 years and the last 20 to 50 years.

The main symptoms that require the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis

This disease belongs to dermatitis, so the main symptom is the appearance of peculiar rashes. The main places of dislocation are located on the face. These are eyebrows, eyelashes, cheekbones, wings of the nose, hair of the head, behind-eye areas and forehead. If the patient has reduced immunity, then the rash extends to the axillary basins and inguinal folds.

Initially, there are spots of reddish color, they are clearly delineated, then covered with scales of the epidermis. Each element of the rash can change its size and merge with other papules.

Most often, the disease begins with the appearance of dandruff, which does not pass in any way with any effects and treatment. So, non-persistent dandruff is the first sign that it's time to start treating seborrheic dermatitis. After that, redness and bloating are observed. Dermatitis on the scalp is accompanied by hair loss, but hair follicles themselves are restored after the course of treatment and the cover is renewed.

Dermatitis can be accompanied by itching, and if you rarely wash your head, the disease will begin to progress at an accelerated pace, the affected area and peeling will only grow. If you start and do not go to the doctor for the appointment of the proper treatment for seborrheic dermatitis, then on the scalp will begin to form eczema, which can lead to more severe consequences.

In acute condition, the skin of the face and head is densely covered with scales, severe itching is observed, but the patient simply needs to control himself and not touch the foci of the rash. If you rip off the scales, then under them there will be a bright inflamed surface, and if another infection gets to this site, then the inflammation will only increase.

Causes of the disease:

- hormonal disorders;

Weakened immunity;

- heredity;

- stress and nerve stress;

- the impact of polluted environment;

- metabolic disease.

Treatment of seborrheic dermatitis on the face and scalp

The treatment itself is complex, aimed not only at the repayment of rashes, but also at eliminating the cause of the disease. Initially, a dermatologist appoints drugs that help strengthen the immune and nervous systems. And, of course, the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis mainly involves the treatment of the affected skin. For this purpose boric acid or soda is suitable.

If dermatitis is located mainly on the hair, then shampoos with a curative effect are prescribed that contain iploropyrox, ketonazole, zinc pyrithione or tar. For example, "Sebazol", "Skin-Cap", "Nizoral" or "Keto Plus".

Physiotherapeutic procedures that accelerate the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis of the face are also recommended. Basically, this is the effect of high-frequency currents and cryomassage, which helps to reduce itching and acts soothingly on the inflamed skin. Under the influence of high-frequency currents, the skin is dried, after which the scales depart much better, a new layer of epidermis is formed, as a result of which the skin condition improves and the healing process passes faster.

Some clinics offer laser sclerotherapy, which is an effective low-injury method, in which the restoration of skin tissue occurs without scarring.
