Split personality

Split personality - the term is far from new and well known even for a person far from psychiatry. However, not all correctly interpret this concept, although the symptoms of the disease have been fully studied and described in detail.

It is noted that in the modern world this phenomenon occurs more often. Signs of a split personality consist in the appearance in the mind of the individual of the second "I" and his awareness of himself as two different personalities. Accordingly, under the same conditions, a person can behave absolutely differently, take uncoordinated decisions and look at the same problem from different angles, depending on which personality is dominant at the moment.

In especially neglected cases, the patient does not even remember what one of his hypostases did. You can compare this life to finding it in two dimensions. An example is the patient's confidence that he is a great military leader, writer, president, actor and the like.

In medicine, a split personality is classified as one of the symptoms of schizophrenia. In such a situation, a person simply needs serious treatment, possibly in a specialized medical institution.

Split personality is also found in a lighter form. His symptoms differ significantly from those of a mental illness. The main difference is that the individual realizes his integrity, but is able to do things, speak words and draw conclusions that do not obey a single system of thinking. One of the signs is also the constant change of opinions about the same phenomenon or object, in addition, in different periods of time, people react diametrically opposite to the same situation. So, usually a shy and timid individual suddenly becomes extraordinary and shocking, diligently attracts attention and rejoices if he does it.

Quite often such phenomenon, as a split personality is observed under the influence of narcotic substances or alcoholic beverages.

If there is a problem, there is a risk of an even more serious mental disorder, since the patient is in constant conflict with himself. Two "I" people do not agree with each other, that's why he is tormented by spiritual uneasiness, he sleeps very badly, suffers from headaches and dizziness.

Split personality is a mental disorder that can occur after receiving a mental or physical trauma. For example, in case of loss of a loved one, the need for its replacement is not ruled out. The role of the departed takes on the second "I" of the patient.

Another reason for the development of the disease may be inability to stand up for themselves, weak character. At the subconscious level, the individual is looking for someone who could give him the necessary protection. That is why most often the second "I" of such a person - confident in himself, aggressive and even impudent, his behavior is not always approved by the main person, but he simply can not resist his stronger half.

A textbook example of this phenomenon is Miss Buchamp's story. It co-existed four "I" with different levels of knowledge, health and character memories. The third person asked to call herself Sally and claimed that she was a spirit. She was dominant over the rest of the position, enjoying the torments experienced by others. So, Sally could put a beetle in the box, so that the "other", fearful, Miss Beuchamp simply dumbfounded with horror.

Dr. Prins was able to correct the situation. During sessions of therapeutic hypnosis, he worked with Sally, in every possible way persuading, sometimes even begging her not to mock the three others. Such tactics have borne fruit: the restless "I" left the body, and the three others merged peacefully.

Thus, the split personality is a painful splitting into two or more phases, replacing each other in behavior and character and not connected in any way.
