Spectacular witch hat: how to make

One of the most popular outfits for Halloween and other holidays with elements of the masquerade is still the witch's costume. Evil and kind, mysterious, wayward, capricious and unpredictable, these powerful sorceresses have been worrying people's imaginations for many centuries. And, of course, an indispensable attribute of this witch is her headdress.

So, prepare the materials

The hat of the witch is done quite simply. Materials will need cardboard for patterning, pencil, scissors, ordinary wire (diameter is better to take a couple of millimeters), cutters to work with it, fabric that will be covered with a future hat (best suited black felt), starch, ribbon for decorating the crown, solder With a soldering iron, a buckle or a bouquet for decoration.

Beginning of work

How to make a witch hat ? Start by determining the correct length of wire. First we measure the head. With such a volume, we cut off the wire and make a small circle, with which we fix the fields and the tulle. Now draw the same circle on the cardboard, add to its radius the width necessary for the fields and draw a second, already large, circle. We measure its length and cut the wire into a large circle. Wire is needed for support, cardboard - for the actual cap (it will be necessary to tighten it with a cloth). Then the hat of the witch is done like this: we determine the height and calculate the cone, then from the corner of the cardboard we postpone the calculated height of the crown, hold the arc. The cone is ready. Cut the pattern, take the wire circles and solder them.

The witch hat pattern is ready. We transfer it to the harvested fabric, leaving, of course, the allowances. For the fields we cut out 2 parts, for a tulle - one. The last one is stitched in sections so that the cap turns out. Now we bend its lower edge, insert a small wire circle into its bend, we sew it on the inner side. Try to do everything carefully to make the product look more elegant. The next stage - starch tulle, all but the tip (the tip can hang). If you want the witch's hat all to be tough, then the tip is not left.

Fields

Cut the margins together so that the front side is inside, and we spread them along the outer circle (you can sew by hand, but it's longer), then turn it out and gently iron it. Now take a large circle of cardboard and put it into the fabric. The resulting creases in a small cut must be turned off so that they can be sewn into the already prepared tulle. All stitching, before this glue or paste, having missed the hem of the fields and the crown. By the way, the fields of the headdress can be made not rigid, with cardboard, but soft (in some drawings witches and such hats are also found).

Shutdown

Our witch hat is almost ready, it remains only to decorate it. To do this, we sew the harvested ribbon at the fields (the perfect version is a black satin), and fasten the bright buckle to it. Alternative variant - instead of a buckle to take a bouquet from twigs and small pumpkins. On the edge of the fields you can attach pieces of black tulle, sew a little black shiny beads.
