Sochi sea port and its infrastructure

The seaport of Sochi is not just the place where ships come from and where they go from. This is a special architectural project with its own features and sights. And, of course, this is the only way to get to any place by water.

History of occurrence

In the late 19 - early 20 th century in the city of Sochi, the port, which can be observed now, was absent. Then the ships and other vessels were forced to stop at the roadstead. Cargoes and passengers were transported ashore by boat. That building of the sea station, which exists today, appeared in Sochi in 1995. The project was managed by the architect K. S. Alabyan. The building to which the seaport of Sochi adjoins is 71 m high. It is crowned with a spire with a five-pointed star. In general, I want to note the original design in which this project is executed. It is impossible not to pay attention to the following: round the tower sculptures are erected, installed in three tiers. They embody 4 seasons and 4 parts of the world. It is quite symbolic. There is also a fountain on the territory, near which there is a sculpture of the goddess of navigation. The seaport of Sochi is very beautiful, especially at night - in the dark hours it is highlighted on all sides by bright lights. Many photographers are inspired by the species emerging from these places. Therefore, they remove the port of Sochi - the photos turn out to be extraordinary.

The only one in the whole of Russia

It's true. Sea port of Sochi is the only specialized passenger port in the whole of the Russian Federation. It was created in 1934. The full name is Sochi sea commercial port. This is a commercial enterprise that works towards the development of regular passenger shipping. Also its activity is also in cruise tourism, carried out along the Black Sea coast of the Russian Federation.

Service

Citizens arriving at the seaport of Sochi to go from there by water transport to the road are serviced in the passenger terminal. It consists of an international modern pavilion with a capacity of up to 350 people per hour. Passengers are given the opportunity to visit a restaurant or cafe. There is also a duty-free shop. And it should be noted that the port of Sochi Imeretinsky has immigration, customs and border services. All year round ships from other cities of Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Greece, France, England, Panama, Malta and even the Bahamas come here . All ships are serviced around the clock. The port service is at the highest level, the staff provides all types of services that are necessary for passengers.

Port Infrastructure

So, the total length of two passenger berths is 330 meters - they can take ships, the length of which reaches 220 m! The maximum permissible value of the precipitation is 8.5 m. Thanks to such indicators, the port can accept vessels of different dimensions, and that is why a wide variety of water transport comes there. Sochi is a city that can offer any coastal entertainment to the guests of the resort. The most popular are walks on motor ships "Mikhail Svetlov" and "Gagra". Also regularly goes the catamaran "Dagomys" and small yachts, on which excursions are conducted. For the reception and subsequent processing of incoming cargo around the clock, the port operates an auto-ferry and dry-cargo berths. By the way, I must say that there is not much to go from the airport to the sea harbor - only 35 kilometers. And to the train station just a couple of minutes by shuttle or even on foot.

Objects

Sochi port has fifteen berths. 1450 meters - this is the total length of the berthing front. There are also protective structures, which include the Southern and Northern malls (349 m and 968 m respectively). To date, the port's berthing facilities are in fairly satisfactory condition. The port is constantly reconstructed - this is necessary to improve the international center of cruise and passenger transportation. Thus, it will be possible to ensure a decent reception of cruise ships of large scale.

Infrastructure development

The seaport should constantly develop, as, as it was already possible to understand, it is an object of international importance, and therefore it is obliged to be in an appropriate condition. It is for this reason that the construction of new hydraulic engineering structures is constantly planned. This is necessary to create an appropriate infrastructure. For the same reason, cargo areas are being created in the port of Sochi. In general, the city has many opportunities and potential for its development, this applies to the seaport. Why? It's simple. To see if Sochi has a strong infrastructure, it's enough to remember what works were performed before the 2014 Winter Olympics. By the way, most of the building materials - imported, starting from the most simple, inert (for example, sand, gravel or crushed stone) and ending with more expensive and rare. The seaport is a promising project, which apparently looks complete, but it still can and should be supplemented. On its territory there will be an erection of a large shopping and entertainment center. And this, by the way, is far from the ceiling. In the near future in the seaport of Sochi there will be a lot of different interesting institutions - shops, boutiques, cafes and bars. In general, everything that is necessary for tourists and visitors.
