"Slavonic Bazaar": history of the festival, program, symbol, winners of past years

"Slavonic Bazaar" in Vitebsk is an international festival of various kinds of art. Its main goal is to unite creative people from different countries, through art to achieve mutual understanding and peace.

History of the Festival

For the first time the festival "Slavianski Bazaar" was held in July 1992. Its founders were three non-profit, private organizations. This is the "Culture Center" of the city of Vitebsk, whose director at that time was Rodion Bass. "Rock Academy" from Ukraine under the leadership of Nikolai Krasnitsky. And also "Irida" (Russia), whose director was Sergei Vinnikov. They also developed the position and program of the festival. Rodion Bass became the director of the Slavonic Bazaar. Sergey Vinnikov - the general producer and the main director. Only in the first year the festival was attended by more than a thousand guests and participants from different countries.

In 1995, the program of the festival "Slavianski Bazaar" included movie screenings for the first time. Every year the number of participants grew. In 2003, the festival program included the Days of the Union States. In the same year the first musical contest for children was held. In 2007, the Summer Theater was renovated, where the main events of the festival are held.

Symbol

The main symbol of the festival "Slavianski Bazaar" is the flower cornflower. Invented by his artist from Moscow Alexander Grimm. It is depicted on the emblem in the form of a note. Next to it is the inscription "Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk". Around this composition the text in two languages - Belarusian and English - "International Festival of Arts".

The program of the festival

Every year the program of the "Slavonic Bazaar" includes the following activities:

About the contest

The main thing at the festival has always been and still is the contest of pop song performers. In different years jury members were specialists from different countries. At the very first contest in 1992, the chairman of the jury was Vladimir Mulyavin. This is the creator and the first leader of the legendary VIA Pesnyary. The names of the contest itself have changed many times. At the same time, the goals remained the same. Participation in this competition is a great success. A victory in it is considered a prestigious award. All contestants are singing live according to the contest conditions, without using both plus and minus phonograms, accompanied by the National Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus under the leadership of Mikhail Finberg.

This festival is a unique chance to show oneself, to become famous and get a ticket to a big stage. The winner of the competition receives a diploma and a cash prize. His performance is included in the final concert "Slavic Bazaar", dedicated to the closing of the festival.

Conditions of participation in the competition

In 2016, the festival "Slavic Bazaar" will be held from 14 to 18 July. Its participants can be artists who are not younger than 18 and not older than 31 years. Each contestant must have experience of performances, be a winner or a diploma of any music festivals or competitions.

Initially, the Directorate conducts the selection of participants. To do this, each contestant sends the required materials about himself.

The competition is held in two stages. This is the semifinal and final.

The jury consists of popular composers, pop performers, producers, poets, journalists, managers.

The winner is the participant who scored the most points in two competitive days. If the jury considers that no participant meets the criteria for the winner, then the Grand Prix is not awarded.

Contestants who have won a place receive cash prizes.

A participant may be disqualified for violating the rules of the situation, absence at rehearsals, failure to respect copyright, pressure on judges, conflicts and indecent behavior.
