Pedigree

German family German moved to Ukraine in the early nineteenth century. The great-grandfather of the singer founded a village near the town of Berdyansk, now called Olgino. It was there that Anna's grandfather, Friedrich, was born. He studied in Poland, in the city of Lodz. In 1910 Eigen German appeared in this village. In total, Friedrich had nine children, with whom he returned home after school.

In 1929, Friedrich fell under repression, he faces five years of camps. He sustains only one and a half, then dies of hunger somewhere in the Arkhangelsk region.

His children are also in danger. Oldest son Willie manages to escape to Germany. Eugen finds himself in the Donbass, where he works for some time as an accountant at the mine. But the fear of reprisal does not give him rest. To save his family (wife of Alma and son Rudi), he escapes from home.

In the end, he is in the Uzbek town of Urgench. There he meets Irma Martens. She is a German by birth, she works as a teacher at a local school. Eugen immediately finds a soul mate in it . February 14, 1936 a couple is born a daughter. Her name will later be recognized by the whole world. After all, she is a future singer - Anna Victoria Herman.

Childhood

Soon Anna was born a younger brother Friedrich. It would seem that the family should be happy. However, the sense of anxiety did not leave the head of the family. In September 1937, Eugen was arrested on charges of espionage. He was sentenced to ten years, but almost immediately after pronouncing the sentence, Anna's father was transported to Tashkent and shot there as an enemy of the people.

The family did not know anything about this. He just disappeared from their life. Only in 1975, his younger brother was able to obtain documents confirming the death of Eugen.

In 1938, another grief came to the family. Friedrich dies of the disease. Now there is only two-year-old Anna, Irma's mother and grandmother Anna Friesen. Women decide to flee from an unhappy country. For a long time they can not find a real home. Where only they did not live: both in Novosibirsk and Tashkent. The longest time the family lived in Dzhambul, where they met the Great Victory of 1945. In this city, Anna finishes three classes.

Here Irma marries the Polish officer Herman Berner, who dies in 1943. It is thanks to this marriage that they leave without hindrance to Poland in 1946. It seems that the time of wanderings is over.

Despite the terrible news, the actress decides to continue the planned tour. She manages to visit Kazakhstan and Australia. One of his last concerts Herman gives in Moscow. Overcoming the pain, she performed on stage. At one of the concerts, after a long singing in the encore, Herman even lost consciousness.
