The city of Ussuriysk originated on the site of the ancient Chinese settlement of Suipin, the administrative center of the Jurchen empire, founded in the 12-13 centuries of our era. On its territory there are many interesting historical monuments, as well as unique natural objects.

The ancient and modern sights of Ussuriysk attract many tourists to this city, including from China and Russian regions.

"Arbat"

To see the main sights of Ussuriysk within one walking distance you can go to the historic center of the city. Residents call it Arbat, by analogy with the famous Moscow street, and it is there that the modern Ussuri youth prefers to appoint meetings and visits. Once in this area of the city, you can see a lot of 1- and 2-storey buildings built in the late 19th - early 20th century.

Church of the Protection of the Holy Virgin

The church (address: Chicherina, 80 A) was consecrated in 1914. It was built on the site of a dilapidated St. Nicholas Church, in which in 1891 a moleben was served in the presence of the still-venerable Tsarevich, the future emperor Nicholas II. In the late 20-ies of the last century the church was closed and used for household needs. However, in 1945 it was returned to believers, and today the temple is the center of the spiritual life of Ussuriysk, and its belltower is considered one of the architectural symbols of the city.

Park "Emerald Valley"

The location of this landmark in Ussuriysk and its environs is the village of Utesovoe. The park is divided into several zones. Its decoration is a Russian prison with numerous wooden buildings, including a watchtower, a peasant and merchant's house, a bathhouse, a smithy, a prison and other farm buildings. Inside each structure the life of the departed epochs is recreated.
