Semitrailers "Krone": technical characteristics

Multifunctional semi-trailers "Krone" belong to the most common group of cargo trailers, aggregated with truck tractors. The devices are designed to transport a variety of goods. Machines are one, two or three-axis platforms. It is equipped with a frame, covered with awning (special strong cloth). The rear part is equipped with a flap or swing gates with a pair of flaps.

About the manufacturer

Semitrailers "Krona" is produced by a company named after the creator of B. Krohn. At first the enterprise was engaged in the production of agricultural machinery. Manufacture of trailers was started in 1971. Since 2001, the factory in Denmark has established the production of semi-trailer type refrigerators.

The company Krone consists of four divisions, each of which deals with a certain direction. Three branches are located in Germany, one more - in Denmark. The line of semi-trailers has 10 modifications. The company is headed by the fourth generation of the founder's family.

Kinds

There are two types of tilt semitrailers: onboard and curtain. The first version is equipped with removable or flip-down aluminum sides. Its skeleton is vertical and horizontal racks connected by special crossbars. The upper part of the equipment is covered with a tent. To the sides, it is attached using a cable or fixing hooks. Unloading and loading of the trailer is made, both behind the doors and on the side. Such modifications are mainly used for transportation of groupage cargoes, which require reliable and rigid fixation.

Semitrailers "Krone SDP" refer to the second type. The curtain model has no sides, it consists of three separate curtains (on the sides and on top). The difference from the first option is the technological simplicity and versatility. Plus benefits include easier handling and less cost.

Chassis

This part is a pair of T-shaped longitudinal beams, a central similar block, and an outer frame. Elements are welded with cross-beams and traverses. The external multi-frame frame is designed for universal fixing of the load every 10 cm. Its height in the front part is 12.5 cm.

In addition, this node includes the following elements:

• The pin is two-inch with a radius of the front overhang of 2.04 cm.
• Side protection against rolls.
• Rear analog protection.
• The superstructure has an internal length of 13.6 m and a width of 2.48 m.

Support posts include a pair of jacks with a mechanical drive and a maximum load of 12 tons per each. They have a cylindrical shape, support plate, they are controlled from the right side.

As for the axes, there are 3 of them in the design, with a maximum load of 9 tons per each. The axle distance is 1.31 m. The SAF axles are equipped with a pneumatic suspension and a disc braking system. Axle beam - reinforced type, the distance of the axle unit is 7.65 mm.

Brakes and wheels

Semitrailers "Krone" are equipped with a disk brake system. It includes an external connector for connecting diagnostic equipment. The parking brake is equipped with a spring drive, the connectors for activating the system are located on the front wall, the height is about 80 centimeters from the edge of the platform.

Also there are two wheel chocks, the EBS control system, on each axis there is a pair of indicators. There are modulators with electronic system of stabilization of technology. It is worth noting that the Krone 27 semi-trailer can only be operated with a tractor with an ABS option.

The design uses six wheels like 385/65 R 22.5 (11.75 / 22.5), and there is one spare element. The rim is centered on the hub. Wings are made of polymer, have a semi-circular shape. The holder of "reserve" - basket type, is behind the axial device.

Lighting and additional elements

Semitrailers "Krone" are equipped with a light system that complies with the standards of the EU 76/756 / EWG ff.

The package includes:

• A pair of flashlights for license plate illumination.
• Two lights of dimensions, having rubber handles.
• Electrical connectors on the front wall (height - 30 cm from the edge of the platform).
• Side LED lights.
• 7-pin twelve-volt connector.
• Socket for additional functions (7 contacts, 12 V).

Among the accessories, it is possible to mention a plastic box for tools (600/500/480 mm). It is mounted behind the axial device.

Bottom and roof

The bottom part belongs to the classification of models of type BO 13620 B. The thickness of the floor is 3 centimeters, it is additionally protected from moisture, made of plywood glued panels, sealed on all seams. The strength of the bottom corresponds to the standard DIN 283. The maximum load on the axle when working with a forklift is 7 tons.

Semi-trailer "Krona" (curtain) is equipped with a roof of the modification AB 13620 AP. It consists of external universal longitudinal beams, the material of manufacture for which is a light alloy. The roof is adapted for the installation of an awning and sliding racks.

The second variant of the upper part of the trailer in question can be a sliding roof of the Edscha type (Lite 113). It has a height of 11.3 centimeters, the slope is 0 mm. The index of the internal height to the lower outer edge of the longitudinal crossbar is 2.6 m. The rear opening has a similar index. The element can be transformed only towards the rear, it is equipped with a rubber lip seals on the longitudinal crossbar.

Walls and racks

The front through wall is made of steel, has strong corner posts and limited lateral loading. From the inside it is reinforced with plywood, equipped with a device for removing the tent.

The back wall of the semitrailer "Krona SDP 27" is a steel gate, which are equipped with double locking bars throughout the entire height. The element is equipped with a ratchet for tensioning the tent, belts for cross-locking the curtain. The steel gate is at full height with double locking bars, the width of the opening is 2.46 meters.

Three pairs of racks are installed opposite to each other, they can be mounted in six positions. On the racks there are grooves for detachable bars, one of which is at the bottom of the floor, and four more evenly placed on the rest of the rack.

What is a tent?

Semi-trailer "Krona", the characteristics of which are given above, is equipped with one PVC tent. It has through-gain in the vertical direction. In the upper part there are rollers, which allow stretching the material. Locking device made of stainless steel is located in the lower part, which ensures the stability of the awning. It is adapted for a sliding roof, corresponds to the required height, has a contour marking on the sides. The awning can be made in various colors, has high strength, protects the cargo from moisture, sun and other weather and mechanical influences.
