If you eat three or four shredded musk-tree fruits (equivalent to one hundred grams of dry spice powder) at one time, you can get a whole gamut of hallucinations, heart pain, and in some cases also a rash and swelling. A similar effect is provided by myristicin, also known as elemitsen, which is a narcotic substance. But in moderate doses, in particular, as a seasoning for food, this spice can only benefit. So do not be afraid to experiment with the taste of food, which can advantageously emphasize nutmeg.
