Sebastian Deisler: biography, sports career

At the beginning of zero German talent was quite a lot, and they all showed unusual football. One such rising genius was Sebastian Deisler, a young right midfielder who hit all the experts. He was promised a great future, and the transition to the largest club in Germany - the Munich "Bavaria" - only confirmed the fact that the player deserved special attention. But why did not his name survive to this day? Why is it almost no one hears? The fact is that Sebastian Deisler is an example of how a football career can go under the slope because of injuries. If you do not know the story of this incredibly talented player, then this article will shed light on you for it.

Beginning of career in "Borussia"

His career, Sebastian Daisler started in Mönchengladbach, "Borussia", but it is worth noting that before that he had passed several football schools and in Mönchengladbach came only at the age of fifteen. Three years later, he concluded with the club the first professional contract in his life and began to win a place in the main squad. The Deusler star was so bright that it immediately attracted the attention of other clubs. Considering the fact that he could play in Borussia only in 19 games, Sebastian was pleased with the proposal from the Berlin "Hertha", which was received the following summer. The Berlin club paid two million euros for the young talent, and it was here that Sebastian Daisler revealed himself best. It is worth looking at his way to success in more detail.

Going to "Herta"

At the time of the start of the zero "Herta" was by no means the strongest team in Germany, but still quite strong, capable of imposing a fight even for powerful opponents. And for Dyssler there were excellent conditions, as "Borussia" (Mönchengladbach) could not provide the young talent with a permanent place at the base, while the Berlin club offered this to him. Already in his first season, the 19-year-old boy played 29 matches in all competitions (including eight at the European level), scoring two goals. Everyone saw that this midfielder could become a new legend of German football. "Borussia" (Monchengladbach) at that time, most likely, regretted his mistake, but Dysler was definitely happy, because he received a constant gaming practice. Moreover, he was summoned to the German national team, for which he made his debut in a friendly against the Dutch national team. Then he played in two more friendly matches and aroused surprise at all that was included in the application for the European Championship 2000. Even more surprise appeared on the faces of the fans, when he came on as a substitute in the first match of the group stage, and in the remaining two he played in the first team. Of course, that championship the German national team failed and flew out in the group stage, but even then it became clear that Dysler is a player with a huge future.

The second season in Berlin

Next year Deysler showed even better football. Germany loved the players who were able to show something that nobody had been able to do before. Sebastian improved his performance, and in his second season for the "Herta" played as many matches as in the first, but scored four goals already - what can I say about his overall usefulness for the club. The midfielder, naturally, was just starting to form, he had a lot ahead of him, which was to be learned. In the national team, his business was just fine - he played in five of the six qualifying matches for the 2002 World Cup, as well as in several friendly matches, showing great football. Germany has long been waiting for such an athlete and placed high hopes on the young midfielder.

Beginning of the End

The third season in the "Herta" Dysler Sebastian, a footballer whose name began to appear in the headlines of German magazines, started on a positive note. Until October, he played well for the Berlin club, having spent thirteen matches and scoring three goals in them. He even took part in two qualifying matches together with the national team, but then he was hit by a serious knee injury, which put him out of action almost to the end of the season. As a result, he returned only closer to the summer, to play a few matches for the Berlin club, as well as take part in three friendly games for the national team. He did not take part in the 2002 World Cup because of his injury, but he attracted a lot of attention by signing a contract with Germany's strongest club, Bayern Munich, which paid him nine million euros. This caused the indignation of the fans of the "Herta", but Sebastian Daisler, whose goals delighted the eye of every football fan around the world, went on promotion.

Going to "Bavaria"

However, what did you get instead of a brilliant career in the strongest club in Germany Sebastian Daisler? Biography of the player from this moment began to form just a nightmare. He was still suffering from the consequences of his injury, so he could not gain a foothold in the basic composition of the new team, which placed great hopes on him. Moreover, relapses prevented him from playing - for the whole year he spent only ten matches, in which he did not differ almost in any useful actions. Also, he was never summoned to the national team, so it was obvious that in the development of the career of the young talent definitely there was a turn in the wrong direction. Sebastian Deisler, whose trauma has deprived him of the opportunity to show his best, did not despair - he wanted to recover as soon as possible and continue his ascent. However, unfortunately, this was not destined to happen.

Psychological breakdown

For the second season in "Bavaria" Daisler played only fourteen matches, in which he scored four goals. Everyone could see that the player is incredibly high-class, but he was again knocked down by a serious knee injury, and because of the constant pressure on the young midfielder he had a nervous breakdown, he was plunged into depression, which he was treated at a local clinic. All this prevented him from revealing himself and showing himself well. For the national team, he also played only one friendly match.

New Hope

In 2004, Daisler gradually began to normalize. Naturally, he did not go to the 2004 European Championships, but the new season began quite cheerfully. For the whole year he went on the field in 32 games and hit the opponent's gate four times. All have already begun to hope that the player will get out, and soon Bavaria and Germany will finally have a long-awaited star of the center of the field.

Relapse of injury

In 2005, the midfield leader of Bayern Munich Michael Ballack left for England, signing a contract with Chelsea, and many believed that it was the 25-year-old Dysler that would be a worthy substitute, and the start of the season was more than successful. Sebastian played 25 matches in which he scored three goals, but in March 2006 he again damaged the same knee and left the game for a long time. Because of this, he could not only help Bayern in the championship, but also did not go to the long-awaited World Cup in 2006.

The last season

In the autumn of 2006, Daisler recovered from injury, but returned to the field in a terrible condition. He was actually broken not only physically, but also psychologically. Having played only five games for Bayern, Sebastian made a very difficult decision - in the winter of 2007 he announced that he was completing his career and would no longer play for the club or for the German national team. So sadly ended the story of an incredibly talented German, who was predicted a great future and world fame - but his knee let him down, and then the guy could not stand the psychological load. Dyssler had two more years of contract with Bayern, and the club did not break the agreement out of respect for the player, until 2009 paying Sebastian a salary.

Trophies

During his rather short career, Sebastian Deisler still won several trophies - mainly for his last club, the Munich "Bavaria". In 2002, right before the transition to a new team, he became the owner of the German Cup together with the Berlin "Herta". Together with the "Bavaria" he also became the champion of Germany three times, won the German Cup three times, and also managed to win the League Cup once. As for his career in the national team, here he is not so lucky - Daisler can only boast of getting into the finals of the European Youth Championship in 1998, as well as the 2005 Confederations Cup bronze medal. Who knows - maybe, if the circumstances were different, Deysler would become a legend not only of his club, but of all German football. Unfortunately, fate decreed otherwise.
