Sealant is heat-resistant - a unique means of isolation

To date, the construction of fireplaces and stoves often use heat-resistant glue-sealant. Its purpose is to seal the spaces and cracks in the walls of chimneys and pipes. In addition, this material is often used in the installation of warm floors and in other electrical construction works. What has become popular sealant heat-resistant?

Often it is used to seal joints and seams. It fills the space well, dries quickly and hardens, protects the surface well. Sealants differ in composition and properties, since different surfaces and areas require an individual selection of the specified substance. For example, a moisture-resistant material is suitable for a bathroom and completely unsuitable for fireplaces and stoves. It requires a heat-resistant sealant that can resist high temperatures. In addition to these properties, it must have an ecologically and biologically safe composition. Otherwise, harmful substances will enter the air and will have an adverse effect on health. The most common silicone sealant is heat-resistant for furnaces and fireplaces. Polysulphide and urethane heat-resistant materials are also popular, which can withstand up to 1500 ° C. Due to their elasticity and fluidity, they penetrate deep into the space and effectively fill it. In addition to hermetic sealing of fireplaces, chimneys and stoves, heat-resistant material is used when laying tiles to fireplaces and stoves.

The heat-resistant sealant has the following basic properties:

  1. Protects equipment and devices from moisture and chemical components.
  2. Has a wide range of colors, which makes it possible to choose the right shade for absolutely any surface.
  3. Creates excellent adhesion to materials: metal, brick, concrete, tiles.
  4. It is refractory. Enhances protection against fire.
  5. Has a high drying speed - 2 mm per day.

Scope of application

The heat-resistant sealant is used not only for the construction of furnaces, but also for the arrangement of floors, ventilation, fire doors. Do not take cheap materials. They are often of poor quality and contain harmful components, while every solid and self-respecting company will produce only quality products that do not harm the health. How to apply a sealant heat-resistant?

1. First, the surface is cleaned with solvents or acetone from bitumen, dirt, grease.

2. Protect with paint tape from new contaminants.

3. The tip of the nozzle of the cartridge is cut at an angle and covered with a special cap.

4. This material is applied under pressure for better adhesion.

A heat-resistant sealant requires work at a temperature of at least + 5 ° C. When using it, it is mandatory to use work clothes. Observance of safety precautions and strict execution of the instruction gives the most successful and qualitative results.
