Sanatorium "Karachi" (in the Novosibirsk region)

Rest in Novosibirsk is not only entertainment centers and local attractions. This region is also famous for its picturesque landscapes and large health facilities. Sanatoriums in the Novosibirsk region (reviews of tourists confirm this) have all the necessary conditions not only for treatment, but also for a peaceful and peaceful pastime away from the hectic megacities.

Every year thousands of guests come here. Tourists are attracted by the unique nature of the region and the opportunity to improve their health qualitatively. The article will focus on the health resort "Karachi". Sanatorium, the prices for permits in which are relatively affordable, is considered one of the most popular treatment and preventive complexes in Siberia.

How it all began

The rich history of the resort "Lake Karachi" begins much earlier than it is reported in the official chronicle. According to scientists, 300 million years ago in this very place was the ocean. Then, when he retreated, there were only numerous small ponds. One of them - Karachi - is a lake with unique properties.

The main reason for the popularity of the resort

On the curative features of the lake, according to descriptions from history, the first became known to the local people, and then their work was picked up by the doctors. For many centuries people have been drawn to this place, placing their hopes on it. The name "Karachi" in translation from Tatar means "black mud". However, before the pond was called "Achu-Tebis", which means "bitter-salty". Set for sure, when it was - a few hundred or, perhaps, thousands of years ago, today is no longer possible. What is known absolutely exactly, is that the miracle-working, healing power of the lake people formed a great many beautiful legends.

The first important stage in development

Thanks to its convenient geographical location (Novosibirsk), the lake of Karachi was very popular at all times. Every year, pilgrimages were made to the reservoir, and the number of arrivals only increased. This circumstance was, of course, noticed, and private resorts soon began to open.

In 1880, a more rational, cultural use of the invaluable gift of nature began. This happened when the merchants Norakovski and Milinis took the lake and the adjoining lands for 12 years. The deal was quite profitable for them. The merchants paid scanty, even for those times, a fee of 250 rubles. during all this time.

From that moment the resort began to be equipped: on the shore of the lake small houses were built, covered with turf. They were equipped with bunks of boards. In the huts at the same time could accommodate about 30 people. After a while, the sanatorium "Lake Karachi" could accept for treatment already 65 people. Naturally, about any medical observation then speech was not.

Second phase

An important period of the historical development of Karachi is associated with the launch of the Siberian Railway. Her management noticed the healing effect that water exerts from the reservoir. In 1900, a bathroom unit was built and several wooden houses where patients could be accommodated. However, the result of treatment was influenced by such negative factors as weak medical control, the absence of laboratory studies, and the low level of quality of procedures aimed at treating patients.

In 1901 a railway resort was opened. His medical staff consisted of one paramedic and a doctor who combined the position of the head. Now, under the properly organized supervision of medical staff, treatment with mud and brine has become more effective. And the glory of the healing lake of Karachi spread even more. There were so many people who wanted to visit the resort that even yurts were used to accommodate people. And on the shore of the reservoir began the hasty construction of small private houses from the boards.

In 1911, and then in 1913, the resourceful merchants Shcheglov and Ketov opened two new private resorts. Now near the lake Karachi there were four private sanatoriums and one railway. In general, people suffering from rheumatism came here to treat mud and brine. Faith in the healing properties of the lake has become even stronger.

A new stage in development

With the advent of the October Revolution, and then the civil war in the history of the resort of Karachi, a completely new stage has begun. During this turbulent period, the infrastructure of the resort has been severely damaged. By 1920, half the crumbling department at the railway resort was destroyed, all buildings were destroyed.

In 1920, Lenin issued a decree on the nationalization of resorts, according to which they should be handed over to the people. Since that moment, all the complexes located on the Karachi Lake have been headed by Sibstrakhkass. Under the leadership of Ya. Z. Shtamov, a few months later the old life revived in the sanatorium. The hospital was ready to receive all workers and veterans of the past war.

A great influence on the development of the resort was provided by the 666th Field Hospital. In 1920, Karachi received more than 1,644 people in need of treatment. In 1921, with the help of the hospital, more than 4 stationary branches were formed. Work was attracted to doctors, professors and students from Tomsk University. By this time, the resort could accommodate 2037 patients. In 1924, reconstruction and construction work began in the sanatorium "Lake Karachi".

In 1925, the resort develops a significant leap forward. Thanks to the Tomsk Physiotherapeutic Institute, the sanatorium "Karachi" of the Novosibirsk region was completely re-equipped. At the same time, the resort completely changes its appearance, the last traces of past destruction disappear.

Staff

Sanatorium "Karachi" was served by doctors from Tomsk clinics and physiotherapy institute. Under the leadership of MG Kurlov, a great deal of work has been done to study the effect of water on human health. The scientists also studied the lake itself. From this moment the sanatorium "Karachi" took the leading position among the resorts of Siberia, balneological nature. And his level of organization of the medical case was not inferior to the leading European health resorts.

History of further development

After some time management of the sanatorium had to raise the issue of more rational and long-term use of the curative resources of the resort and its powerful equipment intended for the professional treatment of diseases. This need was associated with the rapidly unfolding development of the industrial sector in Siberia, and especially in the Kuzbass, because it required the involvement of a large number of workers in the production process. In this regard, since 1931 the sanatorium "Karachi" began to work year-round.

The result of such a decision was not long in coming. If in 1930 the sanatorium was visited by approximately 1550 patients, in 1932 the number of resorted resorts increased to 3267 people.

The next significant stage in the development

An important moment in the history of the resort was the construction of a new mud baths started in 1934. Were opened: physiotherapy department, laboratory, X-ray room, polyclinic, pharmacy, solarium, comfortable bathing and much more. For the interesting pastime of its visitors the resort was equipped with a wonderful kursal, club and gym. In 1937 the construction of the largest and most popular mud baths was completed. The building was equipped with 44 bathrooms, and in it were installed 40 mud couches. At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War the sanatorium "Karachi" was a comfortable medical institution with the latest equipment and a large staff of qualified balneologists, headed by Professor ND Liberov.

Military and post-war time

During the fighting in the sanatorium a hospital was formed. It was at that time that the doctor A.N. Bykhovsky opened the previously unknown method of cold-blooded mud treatment of gunshot osteomyelitis. Subsequently, the development was successfully used in many evacuation hospitals in the Urals and Siberia. Another important discovery, made at the resort of Karachi, was the development of Professor IA Valedinsky. With her help, it was possible to significantly shorten the healing time of damaged bones and other complex wounds received from firearms. And if before the treatment of damage required from 170 to 200 days, but now, with the use of a new technique, the wounds were delayed for only 68.

After the end of the war, the role of the resort "Lake Karachi" increased even more. The paramount task of Siberian doctors was the restoration of health in veterans, past battles, and those who invested their forces in raising the country from the ruins. And on the turn to the sanatorium "Karachi" of the Novosibirsk region there were already workers who built hydroelectric stations, railways and mastered Siberian minerals. For them, summer pavilions, new sleeping buildings made of stone were erected on the shore of the pond, and in a separate building - a beautiful club-dining room with 420 seats. Later, two residential wings with 150 beds each were attached to it, thereby significantly increasing the influx into the sanatorium. "Lake Karachi" in those days won all-Russian fame and recognition.

Research

The study of the therapeutic properties of the Karachi Lake began in 1897 by the scientist AP Bogachev. They were collected dirt and brine from the reservoir, and then under laboratory conditions of the Tomsk Mining Department, he conducted their chemical analysis. Since 1950, scientists from the Novosibirsk Medical Institute, under the guidance of Honored Scientist Professor GD Zalessky, have resumed work on the study of the properties of the reservoir. Associate professors AE Gel'fman, NP Kochetkova, GK Ivanov and Professor M. Ya. Subbotin have invested heavily in the study of therapeutic factors, the principle of their action on the human body and the development of an effective treatment program. The received information considerably expanded the arsenal of knowledge, which was earlier laid by scientists from Tomsk State University - MG Kurlov, T. O. Valedinsky, M. D. Ruzsky.

Unexpected discovery

For a long time the resort was in need of drinking water. In 1958 a source of mineral water was discovered in the lake at a depth of 1,173 m, which was later called "Karachinskaya". Her first studies immediately acquired a scientific character using the approach of evidence - based medicine. The principles of the scientific justification were based on thousands of laboratory observations, which fully corresponded to the international norms of any medical and health-improving effect.

A very lucky coincidence was the fact that the mineral water "Karachinskaya" was discovered by such great scientists of Siberia as G.D. Zalessky, academicians V.P. Lozovoy, V.P. Kaznacheev and Yu. P. Nikitin. Thanks to them it became known about its health-improving properties. Subsequently, the study was continued by professors EF Kanayeva, AE Gelfman, MI Loseva, together with doctors from the clinic - LV Kosovanova, MA Kosovanov and others.

A deeper study of the therapeutic effect of mineral water "Karachinskaya" resumed in the 60th of the XX century. During this period, a group of scientists headed by Professor AE Gel'fman, for the first time, carried out clinical and experimental work on the study of its effect on the physiological state of the stomach. Also, he began studying the effect of water "Karachinskaya" on kidney function and water-salt metabolism. The completion of the research work of this period was the candidate's thesis of LV Kosovanova.

Application of the acquired knowledge in work

The beginning of the use of mineral water "Karachinskaya" for the prevention and treatment of diseases in the organs of the digestive tract occurred in the 60s of the last century. It was the third natural factor with the healing properties used in the resort. Now a single set of healing procedures included therapeutic mud, brine and mineral water. With its help the lungs successfully succumb to diseases of the digestive system, joints, nervous system and even more than 10 serious ailments.

Printed publications about the resort

The first published information about the lake appeared in 1901 in the guidebook of the resorts of Russia thanks to its author L. Vertinson. In 1971, the resort was officially given the status of republican importance. In 1973, a popular scientific work on Karachi was published in the West Siberian book publishing house. Its authors are academician, chairman of the Siberian branch of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences V.P. Kaznacheev, as well as the candidate of medical sciences and simultaneously the head physician of the health complex - MA Kosovanov. In this book, scientists in an accessible form presented all the knowledge they had accumulated about the history of the resort, its future prospects and how and whom they are treating in the natural health resort. To this day, the book is very popular both in the professional environment and in patients. About Karachi Lake also printed more than 200-t works in magazines and collections. Many of them are stored in the museum and health resort library.

Modern History

The study of the healing properties of mineral water "Karachinskaya" continues at the Department of Faculty Therapy of Novosibirsk State Medical University. University. The works are conducted under the auspices of the academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences A.D. Kudimov together with scientists from Tomsk Research Institute. Due to lack of funding in the 90 years the resort began to gradually decline. Negatively, the consequences of privatization of honey have been reflected in it. Institutions. Only thanks to the support of the administration of Novosibirsk, Karachi continued to exist. The existing conditions were no longer able to provide the required level of comfort for arrivals. Because of the emergency condition, the hulls were closed. The resort needed urgent reconstruction.

Revival of the sanatorium from the ruins began with the arrival of the investor "Karachinsky spring" in 2011. Today, a boiler house has been built, the residential building, a drinking gallery, a laundry, mud baths, baths and a pier have been reconstructed, the adjacent territory is landscaped. Work is under way to restore the club-canteen. In addition, the list of services provided by the sanatorium "Karachi" (photo it can be seen above) and the medical base has expanded. In 2013, the resort's health program introduced the fourth natural factor - mineral therapeutic iodine-bromine water.

The resort will celebrate its 135th anniversary in 2015. For the current, 2014, and next years, it is planned to build a covered passage from housing to medical housing, as well as the construction of new outbuildings to accommodate guests, a swimming pool, saunas and a sports hall.

Finally

Many residents of Siberia prefer to spend their holidays in the sanatorium of the Novosibirsk region. The reviews left by tourists who have already visited the resorts are filled with enthusiastic impressions of their stay in medical institutions. The cost of tours is quite affordable. This is an undoubted advantage of health resorts in Siberia. So, for example, the cost of the program "Children's Health", described above, is 7500 rubles.
