Russian Stonehenge: Arkaim (Chelyabinsk region)
In the world there are plenty of objects that I would like to visit almost every modern person: the Great Wall of China, the Eiffel Tower, the Egyptian pyramids, Machu Picchu, the Grand Canyon in the USA, the Statue of Liberty and many others. As a rule, in such places tourists do not hang out at any time of the year. But there are also such corners, for example, Arkaim (Chelyabinsk region) or the fortress of Eni-Kale in Kerch, which are known only to a narrow circle of curious travelers.

Section 2. Arkaim (Chelyabinsk region). Stages of discovery
Another 18 years have passed. In the summer of 1987, students from the local archaeological community went to this territory. Their task was not to search for this monument, they were instructed to explore the territory with the purpose of further building a special irrigation system necessary to establish water supply in the agricultural areas of the region. Special importance of this mission was not attached. However, during the work in the steppe zone , remains of the ancient settlement called Arkaim (Chelyabinsk region) were discovered. In general, one can not but note the fact that, if it were not for the discoveries of young archaeologists, the terrain would simply be flooded. The monument was defended.
