Rules of conduct on the water in a cruise

Sea cruise liners are today one of the safest modes of transport. Shipping companies invest millions in their business, as security requirements are increasing every year. For example, recently, the operation of vessels with lift only on elevators from the lower decks was prohibited, since the elevator may not work when de-energized. Ways of evacuation must pass along the gangways and be designated as glowing in the dark by special signs.

Rescue means of one side of any vessel are designed to save all people, both passengers and crew members. However, the rules of behavior on the water prescribe that in the first 24 hours of the cruise there should be a training alarm.

In a printed form, the safety instruction is on the door of the cabin. Life jackets in the right amount - in the wardrobe of the cabin.

You will be told how the alarm sounds, and after a while will give such a signal. Usually it's 7 short beeps, followed by one long beep.

Be serious about the training alarm! Of course, the likelihood of all this you need - is negligible, but to practice, putting on a life jacket, and remember the shortest path to the desired rescue station is definitely worth it. The training alarm will last no more than half an hour. On some ships a roll call of those present, and for "the unconscious" they arrange an additional educational alarm. And it does not depend the first time you are on a cruise or in the 10th.

We will not consider the unlikely event of damage to a cruise ship with the evacuation of passengers on various auxiliary boats. This is a separate topic. But the rules of behavior on the water - quite an actual topic for cruise ship passengers, also because often rest on the parking lot takes place on the beach.

Hardly anyone will deny that the best rest is at the water. Swimming, fishing, boating and other equipment are all very exciting. Unfortunately, there are cases when water delivers not only pleasure, but also leads to a tragic outcome. The rules of behavior in water bodies are not an empty and boring formality. Each of us can find himself in a situation when his life and safety will depend on his skillful actions not only his own, but also another person.

Rules of conduct on the water in Russia for the first time released the "Society of Rescue on the Water", organized in 1872 year. They still sound actual today:

- You can not swim, and even more so dive in unsuitable places;
- do not swim further than the buoys;
- Do not approach the water to ships and boats;
- no games with a comic "drowning";
- Do not go into the water in a state of intoxication;

- be vigilant when using inflatable appliances;

Safety rules on water:

The water temperature should be at least 19 degrees Celsius. The time in the water should be increased gradually within reasonable limits. The rules of behavior on the water say: in no case do not jump from the shore - you can get a serious injury by hitting the stone. Do not swim too far - you can overestimate your strength.

And a few tips. Charter, you should turn over on your back and "relax" on the water. If captured by a strong current - do not try to overcome it. The correct tactic is to swim downstream, with a small angle towards the shore. Once in the maelstrom, you should get air into the lungs, dive and, when you ascend, make a jerk to the side with all your might. Another extreme situation - muscle cramp: you swim and suddenly feel - reduces your leg. Pull forcefully, grabbing your thumb, feet on yourself. This usually helps.

And the last thing - learn to swim and learn to swim your children. Of course, many good swimmers are drowning, but a person who knows how to stay well on the water, feels much more confident. And this is very important!
