Rotavirus treatment
Of paramount importance is pathogenetic therapy aimed at the restoration of electrolytes and fluids, which were the result of an infection such as rotavirus. The diet should be not only during the acute course, but also within a few weeks after recovery: milk and dairy products, as well as foods rich in carbohydrates, are removed from the baby's diet completely. This is due, above all, to the fact that viral diarrhea takes place
Rehydration (restoration of the water balance) is carried out by glucose-saline solutions: oralite, rehydron, citroglyukostan. If it has a severe form of rotavirus, treatment includes infusion therapy (the introduction of special solutions directly into the blood).
The use of antibiotics is not advisable, since they do not have the necessary effect on viruses. Assign them only to young children and only if the infection is of a mixed nature (viral-bacterial).
The virus is transmitted not only by airborne droplets from person to person, but also through water. Therefore, one of the preventive measures is the use of boiled water and milk.
