Roman Kartsev. Biography and creativity

The audience of millions of people knows and loves its brilliant humorous monologues "Meeting at the Distillery", "Raki", "Sidorov - the cashier". He is in demand at concerts, the spectator goes "on him". People fervently love the artist and widely quotes his reprises.

He created vivid images in the cinema: Shvonder ("The Heart of a Dog"), Poplavsky ("Master and Margarita"), Solomon ("Promised Heaven"). Of course, you recognized him. It is the People's Artist of the Russian Federation, the actor of the Theater of Miniatures - Roman Kartsev.

Artist with a capital letter

He was born on May 20, 1939 in Odessa. All the work of Kartsev (now he lives and works in Moscow) can be interpreted as a declaration of love for his city of childhood. In his inner world, a special place is taken by the reflection of what he saw on the seaside streets, a cheerful irony from the experience he and his friends experienced. The secret of success of the artist's creativity is in the depth of people's understanding, in humanity. It seems that in it somehow the whole world around us is amusingly and ironically reflected in it. He was given a special gift: to talk with the viewer in a confidential manner, so that everything said was humanly recognizable. That is why the eyes of his hearers light up, it becomes warm and joyful for them, and their lips are stretched in smiles.

Roman Kartsev in demand as an artist. Being an incorrigible optimist, Roman Andreevich even now radiates a positive attitude to the viewer even in his 76 years. He has his own unique charisma. His creative evenings always pass with a full house.

Parents of the actor

Kartsevym began to call him later. This stage name was taken by Roman Katz, an Odessa guy who dreams about the stage. His family spoke Yiddish. The grandfather along the line of the mother served as a synagogue cantor (singer). During the Nazi occupation the Roman family suffered a heavy loss: all the grandfathers and grandmothers were killed.

Fortunately, my parents were still alive. The father of the future artist Ansel Zelmanovich Katz before the war played an attacker of the Tiraspol football team. From it, Roman Kartsev took over the love of football. Perhaps in the war he was saved by a good physical preparation. Fate took care of him. He was lucky to escape from the Nazi concentration camps of death. He was able to return home only in 1946. After the victory over Nazi Germany was sent to the war in Manchuria. Father further worked as a coach.

Full Name Mother of Roman - Fuksman Sura-Leia Ruvinovna. She worked as an OTC inspector at a shoe factory, was a party organizer. For the time of the war, Roman Kartsev and his brother stayed with Omsk in Omsk. They, who returned to Odessa, were waiting for a blow: the family's home was busy. The relatives sheltered. It was crowded and hungry. The life of the family was normal when the father returned.

Becoming an Artist

After graduating from school, Roman worked at a sewing factory. His hobby was a drama club at the seamen's club. The amateur actor was noticed and in 1960 he was admitted to the theater "Parnas-2", where he acted under the pseudonym, which is now on everyone's lips.
In the theater, he meets his stage partner Viktor Ilchenko. Two years later, talented like-minded people left Odessa for Arkady Raikin at the Miniatures Theater.

Arkady Isaakovich had something to learn! In his team worked their fellow countryman, a talented author of miniatures - Mikhail Zhvanetsky. Evidence of the increased artistic level of the creative tandem Kartsev-Ilchenko was the participation in the All-Union Contest of Variety Artists in 1969. They wanted to grow further. However, Arkady Isaakovich preferred to keep young talents in check, was an authoritarian administrator.

In 1970, after escaping from the wing of the master to his native Odessa, they organized their own miniature theater Mikhail Zhvanetsky, Victor Ilchenko and Roman Kartsev.

The biography of a man who in the past bore the name Roma Katz, changed diametrically. The young adherents, of course, had many difficulties. In a sense, it was easier behind Arkady Isaakovich, who easily solved all the social issues of his assistants. But now Roman Kartsev built his own destiny himself.

Looking ahead, let's say that after a decade the creative Odessa citizens who achieved recognition will return to Moscow and will again perform on the stage of the main Thumbnail Theater of the country.

Worthy filmography

Kartsev, dreaming about cinema, seriously worked on his acting skills. Evidence of this is the end in 1972 of the acting faculty of GITIS. And the world of cinema accepted it! His filmography began with the tape "Hard day - Monday" and includes the people's favorite works of cinema: "The Magic Voice of Gelsomino", "The Bindker and the King", "The Dog's Heart", "Old Nags", "Prediction", "Promised Heaven". He played with the best artists: Valentin Gaft, Liya Akhidzhakova, Oleg Basilashvili.

Decency of Roman Andreevich

Later, he himself will give an assessment of his becoming. He is immensely grateful to the initiative of his partner (unfortunately, the deceased) Viktor Ilchenko. It was his idea to go to Raikin. Kartsev admires Arkady Isaakovich, for seven years brought up from two Odessa actors amateurs of real artists. And, of course, worthy of the role of his friend, the tireless generator of creative ideas and magnificent texts - Mikhail Zhvanetsky. It is characteristic of a novel to Kartsev never to forget about people who helped him at various stages of his life.

He's a good family man. His rear is now represented by his wife Victoria Pavlovna Kassinskaya, daughter Elena Kassinskaya, son Pavel Kassinsky. There are grandchildren: Leonid and Nick (Elena's children).

Instead of concluding

As before, Roman Kartsev lives. Photos captured him at his desk is not accidental. After all, in addition to acting, the recognized master of miniatures and characteristic episodic roles now also successfully writes books. The first author's novel "Little, Dry and Writer" was expected to be autobiographical. (It's easy to guess who is talking about the name). The second novel "I dreamed Chaplin" introduces us to the inner world of Roman Andreevich himself.

Admittedly, both books are a success. Perhaps, because of the author's ability to achieve success in the work. He himself explained that he perceives himself rather not as a writer, but as an actor improvising on paper. And connoisseurs of his talent know that it is not easy to replay Kartsev's improvisation.
