Rash on the abdomen of pregnant women

The body of a pregnant woman is a big mystery. Naturally, scientists manage to learn more and more about changes in it during this period, but, however, there is still a lot of inexplicable and mysterious.

Often in pregnant women there is a phenomenon such as a rash on the abdomen, which is accompanied by itching. This is not only painfully physically, but also pushes us to reflect on the root causes of this problem, as well as how it will affect the health of the child.

If you just itches your stomach during pregnancy - this is quite normal. Most often this happens due to the fact that the skin is intensively stretched.

In addition, the cause of the itching can also be a hormonal failure, since during pregnancy the amount of the hormone estrogen increases. Do not worry too much, itching will leave you right after delivery. Also, a rash on the abdomen can signal about various diseases, in particular, about eczema.

During pregnancy, eczema may appear unpredictable. It can arise by itself or intensify. In this case, the opposite effect is possible: the rash and wounds disappear when pregnancy occurs.

In order to prevent the appearance of pruritus, pregnant women should limit the use of a shower or warm baths and, if possible, do not use cleaning products and detergents containing strong fragrances and chemicals, as they often provoke rashes.

Taking a shower, it is advisable to use a moisturizing soap or cream-shower gel. When pregnant, it is very important to carefully moisturize the skin on the stomach, to prevent the formation of a large number of stretch marks and to remove the itching.

If you suffer from a rash on your stomach and itching, then try to avoid overheating the affected areas. Excess heat adversely affects the rashes and can provoke their intensification.

Another cause of rashes on the abdomen in pregnant women is polymorphic dermatosis. Despite the fact that the diagnosis sounds scary enough, in fact it manifests itself exclusively in the rash and light itching. Most often it occurs already in the third trimester of pregnancy. Polymorphic dermatosis is caused by a strong stretching of the skin and mainly occurs in situations where the fetus is very large or when a twin is pregnant.

Such a rash on the abdomen can be very easily distinguished, since it looks like red, small tubercles. As you approach the delivery, the rashes begin to gradually disappear and after that nothing will remain.

To get rid of polymorphic dermatosis, doctors often prescribe antihistamines and steroid creams.

Another cause of rashes may be an allergy. It can occur at any time and on any substances, since the body undergoes various changes during pregnancy. Among the main symptoms of allergy are itching and rash, runny nose, swelling and coughing.

Do not despair if the rash on your stomach itches and brings discomfort. Since during pregnancy it is not advisable to take various antihistamines, it is better to turn to folk medicine. For example, take the juice of dill and dilute with water in a ratio of 1: 2. Wet gauze in the solution and apply a compress to the affected area. Get rid of allergies will also help the potatoes baked in the ashes. It must be eaten every day.

You can also remove itching and inflammation in other diseases on your own. To do this, make a decoction of chamomile at the rate of one tablespoon of dry medicinal daisy for a glass of boiling water. Mix and leave to infuse for 15 minutes. Then gently strain and cool down. When the broth becomes room temperature, moisten it with a cotton pad and lightly wipe the affected area. A red rash on the abdomen after a few applications will turn pale and almost cease to itch.
