Preparation for the Unified State Examination in Computer Science

Today, the results of the Unified State Exam are the only opportunity for receiving free higher education. Without high scores, it is simply impossible to go on budget to a prestigious university for popular specialties such as economics, law, computer security, etc. Training on a paid basis, most people simply can not - to pay from 100 thousand rubles a year can only a few.

At the same time, the school curriculum, in most cases, does not include topics included in the USE. Yes, and most school teachers are not able to give the student the level that is necessary for obtaining high scores. From the students you can often hear about rewriting textbooks instead of competent teaching, solving at lessons not the same examples that they need, the small number of lessons they need.

In this case, what should the student and parents do? Most parents try to find their child a professional teacher on the necessary subject, which, in principle, is correct, especially if you take such subjects as mathematics and physics. Preparation for these subjects is extremely difficult: for the surrender of mathematics it is necessary to prune a huge number of different versions of tasks, in physics - to know all the necessary laws, formulas, and be able to apply them.

The principle of taking an exam in computer science differs radically from the delivery of the above subjects. First, most of the tasks are typical, and to fulfill them, you do not need to solve hundreds of different options. Secondly, some of the tasks are designed to be able to think logically. Many students, for the first time taking a trial version of computer science, are genuinely surprised that the tasks are similar to puzzles, and begin to solve them in their spare time simply for the sake of interest.

How can you prepare yourself for the Unified State Exam?

Here you need to understand that some tasks are extremely difficult, and will require the student to make maximum efforts not only to solve them, but even to understand what they want from him at all. However, to get a passing score (40 points in 2013), you just need to spend a few hours on assignments. And this is with a practically zero base of knowledge on the subject.

The tasks of the Unified State Exam on Informatics can be divided into several main blocks:

  1. Programming. Traditionally the most difficult section of the exam. The problem is that in most general schools teachers give a minimum level of programming, and even completely bypass this topic. And the student simply can not understand the basic principles of the program. However, in the modern Internet there is a huge amount of reference materials written in a language understandable to the student. And yet to study this topic it is highly desirable to hire a tutor, at least for obtaining basic knowledge.
  2. Logics. The second most difficult section of the exam. To perform most tasks it is necessary to solve a logical equation or system, be able to work with sets.
  3. The amount of information. What can be simpler than counting the number of bytes in a text document? Given that the number of characters in this document is given and the size of each character.
  4. Electronic tables. Here you need to know the basic mathematical functions of the MS EXCEL program and the principle of addressing cells in a table. Excel is installed by most people with the Microsoft Office package, and it is not difficult to solve the tasks of the house.
  5. Work with number systems. Here you will need to remember the primary school: the ability to share with the remainder and solve the examples in a column, tk. The calculator is not allowed to use the USE.
  6. Different tasks for thinking, logic, counting.

Of course, with proper desire, prepare for the exam yourself and get 60-80 points is possible, but it is highly desirable to find a tutor, or, in extreme cases, just an expert in computer science who can point out mistakes and give the right decision. To come to this person enough times in a week or two with the tasks written out, in which problems arose. And, of course, actively use the Internet - on forums on programming, in social networks, on thematic sites a huge number of all kinds of tasks with a detailed solution.
