"The highest score" is a truly explosive youth comedy, which has the proper dynamics for the pictures of this genre, successful references and even parodies of many films about robbery, worthy of acting and an interesting idea.

Without a cliche, but with stereotypes

In the category of films about middle and high school there are an infinite number of stereotypes and clichés that, while watching, obsessively callurize the eyes of the viewer. The theme is in fact quite in demand in the cinema, the film in which it is operated, a great many. Many novice and well-known directors repeatedly tried to bring something new into this sub-genre, some did it, others did not. Director Bryan Robbins managed to avoid the most recognizable and bored cliché, but the characters are still somewhat stereotyped. Among the main characters there is a well-known "botanist" Anna Ross, the self-willed Francesca, a rebel-freethinker Kyle, a loser Roy, just athlete Deissmond and positive in all respects Matt. However, this film "Higher score" did not in the least hurt.

Other goals in life

It so happened that when a viewer sees the category "youth comedy", he already expects a traditional set of priorities and goals that should be pursued by individuals of the "adolescence" age category. Traditionally, this set does not look very attentive: with whom to go to the prom, with whom to get the first sexual experience, by all means become a king / queen of the ball, fall in love or fall in love with someone for a dispute and sex in all its manifestations. But the movie "Higher score" shows that teenagers, it turns out, have other goals in life, for example, entering college. Although tons of humor in the story are also present, but without all the same vulgar and gross jokes.

The plot without embellishment

Six of the main characters on the eve of the decisive SAT exam (analogue of the Unified State Examination), which should determine the future fate of adolescents, are decided on the impudent and desperate deed - to steal the correct answers of the test. There is no sense in hitting the spoiler, let the spectator not guess what the guys will do this adventure. But one should know one thing: "The highest score" is a film in which the plot will necessarily be the first quivering love, and the overcoming of disappointments after the first unsuccessful love and true friendship, and a lot of curiosities in such an international company of the main characters. In this case, the action will develop quite dynamically, and the culmination will be the main surprise for the beholder. It is the final shots that give meaning to what is happening on the screen, showing some sublime morality. In this case, the creators deliberately do not strike exclusively in moralizing. To see how the main characters unfold in the final dialogue, realizing that they as a result of their ordeals acquired far more than they planned at the beginning, is incredibly touching.

Caricature of the characters is not a problem!

"The highest score" is a film that can rightly be proud of the cast. All the performers of the leading roles, like one, despite the small experience, played decently with an enviable self-giving. Despite the primary caricature of the characters, to the finale each of them is revealed completely, which gives the event a liveliness and realism. Among the performers of the leading roles, the most experienced in acting was Scarlett Johansson, who changed her usual role as a performer of deep and complex images. Her character is an ordinary girl. Nevertheless, she showed all emotions, feelings and emotional experiences so successfully and reliably that this role was among the nominees in the Teen Choice Award as "Breakthrough of the Year for a Woman's Role". This and confirmed its stellar status. And Erika Christensen, in spite of not too colossal acting experience and constant work in "soap operas", was in no way inferior to her partners, her character turned out bright and memorable.

Male actors

Among the male actors, the performers of the main roles, the cute and charming Chris Evans stands out, who at that time appeared in front of the viewer as an especially enterprising schoolboy. His character is pretty convincing and, most importantly, believable. Brian Greenberg deserves praise , after the unfortunate image of Jake from the painting "The Hill of One Tree", he was finally rehabilitated. Despite the fact that Matthew Lillard's role was small, rather, secondary, the actor was amazing, even though he said only a couple of replicas. So the "Top score" can be proud of its successful cast. The audience will see the other actors for the first time. But their work is worthy of the highest evaluation, so memorable, although different. The performers of the main and secondary roles - rather diverse actors (of varying size and professionalism, with different experience) - formed an excellent creative team.

Cinema with rhythm

Filmstrip with a clear rhythm, completely "without water" - that's what spectator reviews say. "High score" is a non-straining mix of school adventures and endless positive, and filled with meaning, which is so pleasant to realize. The picture attracts unobtrusive humor, young fervor, incendiary soundtracks, a non-trivial storyline and the absence of "dirt". And although the characters sometimes make jokes, their tricks look cute. In fact, they are all one, positive. The verdict is unequivocal - the comedy "The Supreme Ball" can be safely recommended for viewing to a wide audience.
