Prayer by agreement. Orthodox Prayers

Studying the Gospel, you can see that Jesus Christ on earth was constantly surrounded by people who needed His support and help. The Lord saw an endless series of suffering: the blind, the lame, the demoniac, the leper, suffering from other secret and obvious ailments, asked Him for salvation. Jesus did not refuse to help anyone. Thanks to numerous miracles, everyone was able to make sure that He is a Messiah sent by God, called to save humanity. Christ healed human souls, and only God's love can do this .

Prayer by agreement

In the Gospel of Matthew, you can read these lines: "... I tell you that if two of you on earth agree to ask for anything, whatsoever they ask, it will be from my Father in heaven, for where two or three are gathered in my name, There I am in the midst of them. " These words were uttered by the Savior, addressing all people. Konstantin Rovinsky, a priest of the twentieth century, interprets these lines as direct instructions to believers who have suffered misfortune, to pray diligently to God together with others. The archpriest believes that prayer by agreement is especially relevant today, when the faith of many people needs to be strengthened, and the opportunity to pray for someone from the heart allows anyone to show unselfish love and compassion for one's neighbor.

Miracle in the Holy Avraamievsky Temple

In the late 90s, the parish of St. The martyr Abraham of Bulgaria was in a deplorable state. The temple was on the verge of ruin, there was nothing to pay even utility bills. Then Vladimir Golovin, the rector, had an idea to make general church prayer more effective. On Fridays, the church began to perform the Liturgy (earlier on this day of the week, the Divine Service was not held). The parishioners could take communion, confess, pray specifically for the needs of the church. After the Liturgy, the faithful together read the Akathist to the patron of the parish - Abraham of Bulgaria, trusting in his help and support. After a while, miracles began to happen in the temple. The miraculous self-washing of the icons began, the miraculation appeared and a pleasant fragrance from them, after which the Holy-Avraamiev parish was actively visited by pilgrims. Prayer under the agreement of Vladimir Golovin became very popular, and the conciliar worship became a special business of the temple.

Reading Akathists

Since 2004, akathists began to read in the Holy Avraamievsky church, which are one of the forms of prayer under the agreement. Each worship is performed on a certain day and hour, its purpose is stipulated in advance. The person who decided to regularly read the prayer according to the agreement, is written on it and knows that wherever he says it, together with him, other believers will simultaneously ask for it. And most importantly - at the same time, all of them will perform services in the church. Throughout the world, about 300,000 people are already praying with the Holy Avraamievsky temple. Vladimir Golovin asserts that prayer by agreement is an evangelical, age-old, special form of church worship, commanded by the Lord, so that everyone can share with Him their problems.

Requests for insignificant

A short prayer according to the agreement includes a concrete urgent problem for everyone. The request for a daily bread seems to be insignificant in itself, but without food a person can not live, do good. Therefore we ask for a concrete deed for the sake of more essential things. Seraphim of Sarov argued that the main goal of every believer's life is the acquisition of the Holy Spirit, and how he will achieve virtue depends on the person himself, his preferences and abilities.

Many people have a question about whether God can be bothered by trifles. Say, a person wanted a TV with a DVD or a new bicycle, can he really ask Him for such a minor matter? Prayer by agreement may include such moments. Moreover, every little thing needs to be prayed, for God is so great that for him there is no trivial matter in the life of a believer. John Chrysostom even welcomed frequent prayers that protect the life of any person from sins and temptations, ennoble simple everyday affairs with pious thoughts.

Some little things have absolute value

The Monk Ambrose Optina told an interesting incident from his life. Once he talked with parishioners about spiritual life. At the very height of the conversation, he suddenly switched his attention to the old peasant woman. The woman had absolutely other pressing problems, she told how to properly feed the turkeys. Ambrose had long and enthusiastically talked to her on this subject, and then he was accused of diverting himself from talking about God for the small difficulties of an illiterate peasant woman. The Reverend responded that for many, communication on spiritual topics is a luxury that they can afford at any moment, and for an elderly woman her turkeys are a matter of life and death.

So, to pray for a simple, but crucial in a person's life, is more important than uttering loud words about what can wait. And not because the Lord is secondary, but because He is love. If the whole problem is the whole life of a person, then you need to support him, pray with him for this trifle. After all, what is prayer by agreement? This is when several hearts suffer with the same pain.

Prayer is a joy for the Almighty

Often a person crosses the threshold of the temple for a specific purpose. Prayer for him is the last resort, when all other methods have already been tried. But even in this case, God feels joy from the fact that a person turned to him with a request, and therefore felt the need for communication with Him.

The Gospel of Matthew tells us that when the Lord walked through Jericho, two blind men asked him to heal them. Jesus touched the eyes of people. They immediately received their sight and followed him. Thus, Christ not only restored sight to people, but also instilled in them a view of things. They received new values, a different life. Hence, he healed these people not only the body, but also the soul.

Happiness - in the process of prayer

Orthodox prayers must be pronounced with sincere love and faith in the Most High. Whatever the request - about the groom or the bride, about the sick, about the receipt of additional earnings, about the coming journey, one must pray so that to receive joy from every word. "Seek first the Kingdom of God, and the rest will be added to you," says the Lord. This means that you need to learn to be happy in Christ, and then there will certainly be a person ready to share this joy with you.

For example, one believer searches for a bride for many years. In his opinion, one of the ways to achieve the cherished goal is to pray by agreement. How to read such a service, where to find the right words? For this person, the bride is a topic for the inner inner prayer of the heart, which he can only share with the closest people. He enjoys the very process of achieving the goal. It turns out that the tactical goal of his prayer request is a companion of life, and strategic - to be happy in his union with God.

When a request is not made

God's providence does not always agree with our woes and hopes. Prayer according to the agreement, the text of which contains the words "But we do not want to obail as much as we want, but as you are. Let Thy will be for all eternity, "implies that not all desires of the supplicant can be fulfilled. If the person received the requested, it is from God, if he did not receive, then, again, according to the understanding of the Most High. We must accept and continue our journey, trusting in the mercy of the Higher Powers.

FM Dostoevsky wrote brilliantly about his bitter experience of four years of hard labor: "You will think - grief; You will see - the will of the Lord. " Orthodox prayers are read with hope and humility. Every believer understands that God's will is not always intelligible. But God always gives man what he really needs.

The path to harmony

If you carefully read the prayer according to the agreement, you can notice that these are words about the harmony between man and God, about the combination of God's will with our desires: "Your word, Lord, is merciful, Your mercy is endless and your love for mankind. For this we beseech Thee: grant us, to your servants (names), who agreed to ask thee (request), the fulfillment of our petition. But we do not want to, but like you. May Thy will be for ever. Amen".

The Lord wants us to live in peace and love each other, because His life in us is first and foremost love. Wherever they gather together in the Name of God, people look at the same things in different ways, however in one direction, and pray to the Almighty for help in living in peace, and on agreeing along this path.

Everyone has his own experience of grace and sin. Everyone was fallen, while his neighbor was standing, the next day the situation could be exactly the opposite. However, only in agreement and love, even with those who are trusted by betrayal, is the mystery of comprehending this experience.

The Parable of Forgiveness

After the parable of the lost sheep and instruction on how to look for someone who turns away from you, Christ says the words "Where two or three are gathered in My Name, there I am among them", which became the basis for prayer by agreement. In this context, the Lord teaches us, people close to the strayed man, to pray for his salvation. He claims that the measure of forgiveness is unlimited. "I do not tell you until seven, but seventy times seventy times," replies Christ to the question of the apostle Peter about how much a person can be forgiven. The words of the Most High can be understood as follows: if you put Me as the first foundation of love for your neighbor, I will always be near to you.

Absolute love does not tolerate any conditions, it simply is and does not depend on external circumstances. It is difficult to find someone who sincerely loves his neighbor for Christ's sake. However, we should strive for this ideal, and every step along this path is another step that brings us closer to God. Prayer for the agreement on the pain includes sincere grief and concern for the person close to us, for his well-being and health: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, You are pleased with your most pure mouths: Amen, I say to you, as if from you two are conferring on the earth about Every thing, even if it be asked, will be from my Father. In the heavens, if you want two or three, gather in my name that is theirs. Your words are unapplicable. Lord, your mercy is unproductive and your love for mankind is endless. For this we pray: "Please grant us Your servants (the names of the prayers) who agree to ask Tia for the gift of healing and health to the sick of your slaves (the names of those who are aching) the fulfillment of our petition. But we do not want to, but like you. Thy will be done for ever. Amen".

About Ukraine

Joint worship can also be performed on special global occasions. More recently, social networks have flown around the message that in connection with the tragic events in the neighboring state, every day at 22.00 Moscow time, prayer is made on the agreement on Ukraine. The hard trials that have befallen our brothers in faith can not leave indifferent any Christian, wherever he may be. And now everyone has the opportunity to say three times the words of a short prayer at the same time as other believers, ask the Lord for peace and harmony for all Ukrainians.

Conclusion

Through our little desires, which we trust in God, we make our way to the great happiness of harmony with ourselves and the world around us. The Church takes its prayers not only from the Gospel. A book is a source in which everyone finds something suitable for him. Every believer has his own prayer of the heart, through which he feels the love of the Lord. Nowadays there are prayers in Russian. They allow each person, who has no experience in turning to God, to take the first step toward faith.

Prayer by agreement is not just a request for the fulfillment of some vain desires. A person sympathizes with someone, prays with his neighbor about his worries, and at the same time feels the same love and self-pity. So, on a global scale, a joint prayer is a request for the consent of all people in Christ and every single person with God so that peace and harmony may reign in our sinful universe.
