Potassium sorbate and its application

Currently, the food industry uses a lot of various additives that improve the taste of products, and are designed to reduce costs and simplify the production process. The problem is that in the world food market, as in the markets of individual countries, there is a need to simplify the production of products. They are associated with general considerations about the advisability of using dietary supplements, and, as a rule, have nothing concrete against potassium sorbate. In fact, every single additive should be independently tested, because they have too different properties, so that you can talk about them in a single study.

As for possible harm to E202, first of all it is an allergic reaction. In some people, the preservative potassium sorbate can cause irritation on the skin. However, in the rest it is absolutely safe, for 50 years of use of this preservative, no cases of mutations or carcinogenic effects have been recorded. Even the main critics of food additives admit that sorbic acid and preservative under number E202 receives the highest safety rating.
