Pollution of the hydrosphere

The hydrosphere is the water and underwater resources of the globe, of which only 6% is fresh water, necessary for human life, as well as flora and fauna of the earth's surface. A huge part of this fresh water is not yet available, as it is deep underground or is icebergs and glaciers. What is available for use is a meager fraction of the entire hydrosphere of our planet. That is why the issue of preserving this resource is of paramount importance at the present time.

Pollution of the hydrosphere

People of the twentieth century, let alone the twenty-first century, thanks to the scientific and technological revolution, managed to so poison the environment and water resources that we can soon be without fresh water, which means that life on our planet will disappear. Pollution of the hydrosphere occurs in various ways:

  • Discharge of sewage;
  • Clogging with household garbage and production waste ;
  • Discharge of radioactive substances;
  • Discharge of toxic chemicals;
  • Discharge of hot water (cooling nuclear reactors).

We are so negligent about the environment that the pollution of the hydrosphere does not seem to us anything terrible and dangerous. Unfortunately, people until recently did not think that there are already the first signs of an ecological catastrophe on our planet . The most obvious example of gross human intervention is the dead Lake Aral, which scientists are trying to save. To date, the pollution of the hydrosphere is the primary problem of all mankind and each of us individually. While we will only consume everything, giving nothing to Mother Nature in return, we will remain the foremen who live today and do not think about their children and our common house called EARTH.

What violates the hydrosphere? Sources of contamination of the hydrosphere are found at every corner. Many enterprises and livestock complexes do not want to purchase high-quality equipment for wastewater treatment and discharge waste into reservoirs. What can be found in water after such emissions? Well, firstly, the entire periodic system of Mendeleev. The presence of most elements of this system is dangerous not only for people, animals and plants, but also for the inhabitants of the underwater world. Secondly, all kinds of organic and inorganic compounds, which are responsible for the death of all living things. Thirdly, pathogenic microbes and bacilli, capable in a short time to destroy most of the population and wildlife. This is the plague, and cholera, and dysentery and many other diseases. Radioactive substances are sources of pollution of the hydrosphere, which carry such terrible consequences that our descendants will have to deconstruct for decades, since the process of their decay has occurred for hundreds of years. Also, the problem is the dropping into the rivers and seas of water serving to cool the reactors. This leads to an increase in its temperature and subsequently it causes a massive loss of fish and organisms inhabiting the water expanses.

What awaits us with irresponsible attitude to nature

The consequences of contamination of the hydrosphere are very difficult to imagine, since their scale can be enormous. Radioactive waste buried in soil or ocean is a time bomb that can explode at any moment and cause a terrible catastrophe capable of destroying life on earth. All intelligent mankind must activate its powers to enable the descendants to enjoy a wonderful life on our blue planet. Let's take care of what we have to prevent such consequences of pollution of the hydrosphere, which can lead the Earth to destruction. Do not try to deceive nature by dumping waste water without qualitative cleaning. Nature is much smarter than us and, deceiving her, we are deceiving ourselves. Do not litter the reservoirs with household garbage and waste that ruins the surrounding nature. If we learn to destroy waste without harming the environment, we can leave clean water and beautiful land to our descendants.
