Polikotton is a unique fabric

Polycotton is a fabric, the structural basis of which is mainly cotton with a partial presence of polyester, by means of which the qualitative characteristics of cotton fibers are improved by an order of magnitude. It produces bed linens, pillows, mattresses and other products of this kind.

With the use of new technologies for the production of fabrics with the addition of a certain amount of polyester to the basis of natural cotton, at the beginning of this century, a completely unique material was obtained which became quite popular with the buyer as textiles for household needs and is still popular with many housewives. Polycotton is a material in which the percentage of cotton and polyester is different, and the best option for home use is one that contains up to sixty-five percent of cotton. Sometimes polycotton has fifteen percent of cotton in its composition, which is more like its artificial origin, where the natural qualities are almost not traced. But in that, and in another case the fabric does not become less practical, convenient and comfortable.

POLIKOTTON: What is this in terms of quality?

The content of polyester in the fabric gives some quality characteristics that are not found in pure cotton materials. Polycotton fabric excludes shrinkage processes and never crumples. The internal structural structure remains at the same level even when carrying out several washing cycles with a minimum consumption of detergents (washing powder). Due to the presence of fibers of artificial origin, the properties of bed linen in hygienic order increase by an order of magnitude. Polycotton fibers firmly retain the dye molecules inside themselves, which makes this material less susceptible to ultraviolet radiation and even retains its attractiveness even with prolonged use.

Polikotton is incredible softness

When you feel polikottona there are pleasant sensations, while the greater the percentage of cotton, the more comfortable and convenient to use the material. You should know that the synthetic fibers that are in the fabric, very poorly pass the moisture. It follows that a high percentage of polyester in bed linen leads to some discomfort during sleep.

Color and application

Predominantly paint this fabric in a bright color scheme with patterns of varying complexity. As linen for the bed, this material looks interesting enough, and most importantly - it is attractive. But many housewives apply it also for other purposes: they are engaged in sewing curtains, decorative pillowcases and bedspreads. In the sales network there are also mattresses, the skin of which is made polycotton.

Although polycotton is a thin material, it is distinguished by high practicality, and a low price has attracted many housewives, and recently they give it a greater preference than satin, calico or chintz. Along with many advantages, there is a shortage of polycotton in the fabric - it's rolling down after several years of operation.
