Papa Guyé is a Senegalese footballer, centerback club "Aktobe"

Papa Guye is a Senegalese footballer, the central defender of the Kazakhstan club Aktobe. He was born on June 7 in 1984 in the city of Dakar (Senegal).

Papa Guyé: biography. Beginning of a football career

The future footballer grew up in an intelligent family: the father was the director of the school, and the mother was the teacher in the university. Since childhood, the Pope loved football and at the age of six he signed up for a local football section, which was based within his own school. Talents of the young guy were immediately noticed by the coaches, he was predicted a successful football career.

The professional career of Senegalese began in 1999, when he entered the football academy of the club "Duan Dakar". Here he showed good results and was a real leader of his team. The head coach often experimented with the player, releasing him in different positions. Here he from time to time acted as an attacker (forward), lateral, winger, "playmaker", and also showed the highest skill in the defensive line. In the Senegalese club, Papa Guyé played until 2004, after which he was offered a proposal from the Ukrainian Premier League - the Volyn football club (Lutsk) announced its transfer intentions. In early 2005, Guye moved to live in Ukraine.

Speeches for Volyn (Lutsk): Senegalese conquered the Ukrainian championship

Ukrainian football championship in terms of far exceeded Senegalese, but Papa Guy was a head taller than his new teammates in a professional sense. The whole game was held on it: the Senegalese had good endurance, could play on the "second floor", and also practiced defense. Here he played only two seasons (2004/2005 and 2005/2006). The footballer was distinguished by his unrivaled coolness and professional calmness: for the entire period of his stay in Lutsk "Volhynia" Papa Guyye did not receive a yellow and red card. This is a very surprising statistic for "centerback". About this football player spoke all of Ukraine.

Soon the Senegalese are offered a new contract - the Kharkiv Metalist offered more favorable terms and a salary for the football player.

The transition to the Kharkov Metalist

In 2006, Pope Guyé turns into Metalist. Here he began to play as a defensive midfielder, but eventually moved to the position of the central midfielder, where he was permanently entrenched. In the first season for "Kharkov" Guyé played in 24 games and scored one goal scored. Also in "Metalist" he received the first yellow card for his career in Ukraine. In 2007, Senegalese was recognized as the best defender of the Ukrainian Premier League in the version of the fans.

Oddly enough, but Ukrainian football connoisseurs quickly fell in love with the Pope, despite the fact that he is a foreigner. In 2008, he was recognized as the best legionary of the Ukrainian football championship. Together with "Metalist" he reached the ¼ finals of the Europa League and won silver medals in the ULL. In subsequent years the Kharkiv Metalist experienced financial difficulties, due to which the club often changed its leadership. In 2015, Pope Gueye announced his departure from the club. Despite this, he took 9th place among the players with the most games in the history of the Kharkiv club.

Footballer Papa Guye - a player Dnepropetrovsk "Dnepr"

The transition to the Dnipro Dnipro took place in the spring of 2015. In the new club it all started well: Senegalese always went out in the starting line-up and showed good football. In the same year the team took part in the drawing of the League of Europe, where Pope Guyé took direct part.

This year, many Ukrainian clubs experienced a crisis because of the aggravated political situation in the country. The Dnipro did not become an exception: the club management for several months delayed the salaries of players. In view of this, the Senegalese legionary did not have the best memories, because he had not seen his salary for a whole year. In the summer of 2016, the football player left the club.

The end of the "Ukrainian" history for the football player

At the end of August 2016, Papa Guye (photo below) signs a contract with FC "Rostov", which represents the Russian Football Premier League. For some reasons, Senegalese could not play for the main team, so in the winter of the same year he was forced to change the club.

In early 2017, Pope Guyé joined the Kazakhstan club Aktobe as a free agent.

Presentations at the international level

In 2010, the Senegalese were offered to obtain Ukrainian citizenship in order to start playing for the national team of Ukraine. The then coach of the Ukrainian national team Myron Markevich said that he wants to see the legionnaire as part of his team. Soon, Papa Guyé refuses to speak for the national team of Senegal and begins to deal with documents for the new team. This fact caused a public resonance among fans and Ukrainian players, so over time the issue lost relevance. In 2012, the footballer was re-summoned to the national team of Senegal.
