Radio MegaJet MJ-600 rightly received the title of national model. This model of the radio station has been on the market for the last ten years, and for all its time it has undergone many changes and upgrades, without losing its popularity. This is due to its simplicity, reliability and public relations on the part of those users who leave feedback on the MegaJet MJ-600. To date, the model of the radio is morally obsolete, and it was replaced by the updated version of the MJ-650, but this does not prevent the old model is very actively sold in domestic markets.

The MegaJet MJ-600 radio station is delivered in an ordinary silver carton box. The packaging does not have any color printing, which, most likely, is made to please the cost.

Both the shape and the configuration of the MJ-600 in many respects resemble the MJ-650.

Black plastic was used to make the front panel. The radio station is characterized by a laconic and thoughtful design, which determines the external appeal of the device. Appearance can hardly be called original, since many of its features are borrowed from stations of other manufacturers. Despite the obviously borrowed design, the device eventually turned out to be very successful.

The radio buttons MegaJet MJ-600 Plus are rubberized, with small inscriptions located under them. The keys below the station display are gently illuminated by LEDs, like the control knobs.

Functionality of the radio station

The front panel of the MegaJet MJ-600 Plus Turbo has basic functions, but some of them only respond to key combinations after a full reboot of the processor:

1. Button for working with memory and additional functions. In memory of the radio station, the channel is recorded after pressing the FUN key and holding the button of the required memory location. Only the grid and the channel are recorded. To recall the required channel from the device memory, hold the FUN key, then press the button corresponding to the desired memory location.
2. Channel and frequency switching button.
3. The button that presses the last used channel. On some MegaJet MJ-600 Plus Turbo devices, this key is turned off at the factory.
4. Volume adjustment and turning off / on the station are carried out by means of a special knob.
5. Handle that regulates the threshold squelch.
6. Multi-function display.
7. Button for switching AM / FM modulation. Also this key switches the MegaJet MJ-600 radio station to the extended mode of operation. To transfer the station, you must turn it off and turn it on again when the key is held down. This will start the multiset mode of the radio station. MegaJet MJ-600 Plus supports 6 grids, in each of which - 40 channels.
8. The key to open the list of channel scan modes. Scanning is carried out only upwards, it is impossible to change it, unfortunately. Changing the direction causes the scan function to be reset.
9. Enable the listening mode of channels. The mode starts after selecting one channel, pressing the DW key and selecting the second channel. After this, the station automatically switches to the listening mode of two channels at once. The key of this mode has one more function - switching between the five and zeroes. The transition is carried out after turning off the radio station MegaJet MJ-600 and re-enabling with the clamped key. The display should show the number 5, which indicates that the station is going to zero. To return the five, you need to repeat the whole situation.
10. In advanced mode, the key switches the meshes, in the ordinary mode it calls the emergency channel. An additional function of the key is to reset all the settings of the MegaJet MJ-600 Turbo station to the factory settings. To do this, the station turns off and on again when the button is held down. The station will return to the factory settings, which is indicated on the display with the inscription RESET.

Internal structure of the station

The board of the radio station is made of textolite green. The quality of the installation of parts is high, it does not cause any complaints.

For the construction of the output stage, we used the classical scheme for the transistor 2SC2078 and 2SC2314.

On the front panel is the Samsung processor. Schematically, the radio station from the inside looks very much like another model - the MJ-650.

Modes of operation

1. "Receive / Transfer" mode. With the help of the PTT switch, a transition is made from one mode to another. The corresponding key is located on the headset of the radio station. Switching on the transmit mode when the antenna is unconfigured or disconnected is unacceptable: this can lead to the failure of the device. On the station's headset, there are also channel keys "Up / Down" and the button for switching on the noise suppressor ASQ.
2. RESET CPU. Clears the processor memory and returns the factory settings. Started by simultaneously pressing the CH9 key and turning on the device.
3. The mode is 40/240. It is started by turning on the radio station with the SCAN / M1 and AM / FM keys held down. The CH9 key switches between the channel grids.
4. Mode "Memory M1 ... M4". Implies the insertion of data into the memory of the device. Four memory locations are available for recording. To record, the FUN key is pressed, after which the selected memory location is held from M1 to M4. The user is notified of the end of the recording by an audible signal. You can recall data from memory by pressing the FUN key and pressing the key of a specific memory cell once.

Liquid crystal display

The MegaJet MJ-600 radio station is equipped with a Black Matrix LCD multifunctional display, memory functions for the current mode and additional screen illumination. Large digits of the channel number indicator are clearly visible on the display, which greatly simplifies its use.

Parameters of the operating modes of the radio station are displayed on the information panel of the display. The signs displayed on the screen have the following symbols:

• Numbers from 1 to 4. Numbers of memory cells.
• AM / FM. Select a specific type of modulation.
• SC or Scan. Indicates that the receiver is in scan mode. To start the automatic mode, you must turn on the device and set the desired volume level by adjusting the noise reduction. The scanning process will start after pressing the corresponding key, which will be displayed on the MegaJet display. The scanning process stops after detecting a channel whose signal level exceeds the squelch level, and resumes only after the signal has disappeared. It can be restarted by pressing the corresponding button.
• Listening to two channels. The inclusion of two channels in the radio at the same time is accompanied by the DW indication on the display. The communication session is possible after stopping listening on a certain channel and clamping the tangent. Scanning then stops and the radio starts to transmit.
• Indication of the channel number and frequency. The FR / BP key, when pressed, displays the frequency of the selected channel or its number in the station display.
• SRF level indicator. The received signal strengths and transmitter output power display a 12-segment indicator.

Setting up the radio station

MegaJet radio station can be installed in cars with voltage of the on-board network 12 V and grounded minus.

The device is fixed in the car interior with the help of a bracket - the holder of the microphone and the mounting bracket.

Where to place a radio station?

To install the device in a car it is desirable in such a place that it does not distract the driver from the road and does not cause inconvenience during operation. The best option is the instrument panel of the vehicle.

The radio station after installation should not interfere with the driver and obstruct the route overview or impair access to the controls of the machine. Connecting cables are laid in compliance with all safety requirements.

Mechanical stage of installation

Fixing holes under the dashboard are marked using a mounting bracket, which is used as a template for marking. Any sharp tool, for example, an awl, is suitable for marking holes for drilling.

A 3 mm hole is drilled for each mounting panel mounting screw. The bracket is attached under the dashboard with self-tapping screws. The holes must be carefully and carefully drilled, so that during work wires and other electronic devices hidden under the dashboard are not touched.

Setting up the radio station

The device is placed in the mounting bracket before alignment with the locks located on it. After this, the tilt angle of the radio station is adjusted for the convenience of its operation and viewing the information displayed on the display.

The clips of the radio station are fixed in such a way that external cables can be connected to the rear panel of the device.

MegaJet MG-600 is a good device with good characteristics, convenient to use and reliable. Despite all the advantages, thanks to which the station has maintained its leading position in the market for the entire period of its production, today it is outdated morally, and in this connection it was replaced by a new model - MG-650.
