Narochansky National Park: flora and fauna, photo, how to get there. The purpose of the park, the regime of protection and nature management

Naroch National Park, a photo of which can be seen in all promotional tourist booklets of the Republic of Belarus, is located on the territory of four districts in the west of the Minsk region. These are Myadel, Vileika, Postavy and Smorgon districts. The park stretches for 34 km from north to south, and 59 km from east to west. The reserve administration is located in the village of Naroch.

General information

Today Narochansky National Park covers an area of 97.3 thousand hectares. Of these, 66.8 thousand are part of the park, the rest of the land belongs to other land users. These are agricultural enterprises.

The purpose of education

In 1999, the Naroch National Park was established by the Decree of the President of Belarus. The goal of education is the preservation of the natural complex and a group of lakes, flora and fauna, characteristic of the Byelorussian Poozerie.

The territory of the park is guarded by the inspector-huntsman service of the park and forestry workers.

Narochansky national park - a mode of protection and wildlife management

In order to comply with the status of the nature conservation area, the park "Narochansky" is divided into functional zones. All of them have their own, corresponding mode:

1. Reserve zone, which occupies 8.4% of the park's territory. It is forbidden to be outside people without special permission.
This zone includes:

  • The greater part of the Blue Lakes complex;
  • The swampy massif "Cheremshitsa";
  • 350 hectares of forest,
  • Island on the lake Naroch.

All kinds of activities are prohibited here, except for security measures and scientific work.

2. Zone of controlled (partial) use. It occupies 57.6% of the total area of the park. In the allotted areas it is permitted to mow hay, graze cattle, collect berries and mushrooms, and fish. Forest restoration works, excursions and other activities that do not contradict the purpose of the zone are allowed.

3. Recreational zone (1,2%)

It was created to accommodate institutions of sanatorium treatment, recreation and entertainment of local residents and guests, for holding various mass events. This zone includes sanatoriums and health resorts, beaches, parks, meadows, where there are many tourists.

4. The economic zone (32.8%)

It is intended for construction of buildings, implementation of economic - industrial, trade, tourist activities.

Vegetation

Naroch National Park is of great interest to scientists around the world. This is due to the great variety of vegetation in this area. This region belongs to the subzone of dark coniferous oak forests, dominated by coniferous massifs, lowland meadows and peat bogs.

The vegetation covers more than 50 thousand hectares. For these places are characteristic pine forests with rowan and juniper in the undergrowth, and with a huge amount of cowberry, heather, mosses and lichens.

There are birch-aspen and birch forests, alders. Some plots occupy broad-leaved-coniferous and ash-tree forests with an undergrowth of honeysuckle, hazel, scraping of a buckthorn, and a grass cover dominated by a fern-eagle.

Rare plants

The list of endangered and rare species, already listed in the Red Book, has more than thirty species. This mountain arnica, spring primrose, windmill forest, European bathing pavilion, meadow swarm, coppice noble orchis, etc.

To expand the collection of trees and shrubs, to increase the assortment of material necessary for planting and a significant expansion of the seed base in the park, work is under way to create a dendrosad, which will occupy an area of more than sixteen hectares.

Animal world

Narochansky National Park, whose flora and fauna are surprisingly diverse, has a network of reservoirs, which allows a huge complex of aquatic animals to exist. These are fish, terrestrial coastal vertebrates, a huge number of waterfowl, especially during the migration period. At least 243 species of vertebrates (terrestrial) live in the park.

Birds

Especially rich in birds are local forests - ninety five species of birds are concentrated in them. Among them are representatives of the northern taiga complex, such as shaggy owl, hazel grouse, nutcracker and others. The water ornithocomplex is also represented by 35 species. Birds living in open spaces number 33 species, on the upper marshes there are 2 rare species - a large curlew, a white partridge. In settlements there are 14 species of birds.

Ungulates

The forests of the Naroch region became winter habitats of ungulates. They are not able to ensure the residence of large populations of wild boar, elk, roe deer throughout the year.

Fish

Naroch National Park can be proud of the presence in the rivers and lakes of 32 species of fish. Among them, brook trout, minnow, chub, char, burr, stickleback and others.

Lakes and rivers

Narochansky National Park differs from many other institutions of this type, a branched hydrographic network. Special interest of scientists is caused by the lakes of the park, which are united into several groups:

  • Narochanskaya group (Lake Myastro, Batorino, Naroch and Beloe).
  • The group consists of a number of small and medium-sized reservoirs.
  • The Bolduk group is located in the territory of the "Blue Lakes" reserve. These are Lakes Glublya, Bolduk, Barley, Ichsarets, Glubelka, Dead.
  • The Svir group consists of large shallow lakes (Vishnevskoe, Svir) and a number of smaller ones - Gluhoye, Svirnishche, Tushcha and others.

Small rivers

Narochansky National Park has the Naroch and Stracha rivers on its territory.

Naroch originates from the lake of the same name. It has a valley with a noticeable floodplain, the width of which is from 300 to 600 meters. The river bed is meandering, in some areas it is sewer. The width is from 8 to 16 meters.

The Stracha River originates in Lake Shvakshty, is characterized by a poorly developed valley with gentle slopes and a narrow floodplain. The riverbed is very meandering, its width is 15 meters. These rivers are perfect for water tourism.

Recreation

In Narochansky Park there are 36 natural and local monuments of nature. Here are created such reserves, as:

  • "Blue Lakes".
  • "Shvakshty" and "Cheremshits."
  • "Cherevky Peninsula".
  • "Rudakovo", "Nekasetsky", "Step-children".

In the park there is a large resort zone of the Republic of Belarus, which unites 11 sanatoriums and boarding houses. Today it is actively developing due to the successful implementation of the state program.

In the park "Narochansky" designed for tourists about 30 routes, there are many days of cycling, walking and water trips. On the shores of nine lakes, 16 tourist sites have been built.

In the summer, everyone can take a helicopter trip and view these picturesque places from a height. In addition, you can take part in fishing and hunting tours, take up underwater hunting, diving.

Dendrological garden

Many tourists will certainly be interested in the dendrological garden. It was created in 2002 on the shores of the lakes Miastro and Naroch and bears the name of SA Gomza. Here is a unique collection, consisting of 400 species of trees, herbs and shrubs.

How to get to where to stay

Today many people come to rest in the Naroch national park. How to get here? Quite simply. The most convenient way to get there by car, along the routes in the direction of the village of Naroch. The road from Minsk will take no more than 2 hours.

Taxi and buses run from the central bus station in Minsk. The Minsk-Naroch route will suit you.

All guests are offered to stay in the comfortable modern complex "Naroch". You can also take a rest in a hotel or camping cottages.
