NA Zabolotsky: "The beauty of human faces." Analysis of metaphors

The classic of Russian literature compared the eyes of a person with a mirror in which the soul is reflected. In itself, this simple optical device does not look beautiful, we can only talk about its quality (the flatness of the surface and the material of the inner coating). In extreme cases, you can talk about the frame - it, as a rule, corresponds to the style of the decoration of the room. Beauty appears when someone in the mirror peeps in. Or does not appear. It is interesting to talk about the beauty of human faces. An analysis of the life path passed by a person allows us to judge by eloquent signs about his mind, honesty, trials that have fallen to his lot, and even how worthy he overcame them. Poet NA Zabolotsky conducts his own metaphorical analogies, comparing faces with buildings and guessing on them tenants-inhabitants.

The Life of a Poet

Fate was not easy. The path to poetry began in childhood, which passed in the Kazan province. Father and mother were rural intellectuals, the boy read a lot and was fond of various fields of knowledge, from chemistry to drawing. The vocational school, the admission to Moscow University at once to two faculties, the transfer to Petrograd, the writing of the first not very successful verses - all this was crossed out by the army service. Strangely enough, it was this mobilization (1926) and the burdens connected with it (they were not the most terrible, Zabolotsky served in St. Petersburg and actually went to work as a job) inspired the young (he was 23 years old) poet to write something for the first time Serious. After the army he worked in OGIZ (later it was renamed to DetGIZ) from Marshak.

In 1938 he was arrested. This test was more serious than the army. They were released only in 1944, and after the transfer of the "Lay on Igor's Campaign" they even allowed him to reside in the capital and reinstated in the joint venture. After the "thaw" began, Nicholas experienced a creative upsurge that lasted almost until his death. During his lifetime, four of his collections were published, the last of which was the poem "On the Beauty of Human Face" written in 1955. An analysis of the author's worldview gives grounds to consider him a person who was able to think figuratively and out of the box.

To the first and superficial glance it seems that the poet uses a fairly common method of contrasting. That's roughly: there is a person beautiful, rich and healthy, but bad and mean, and the other - his complete antipode, curve, oblique, ill and poor, but his soul is indescribably magnificent.

Poetic physiognomy

No, Zabolotsky is not so simple. Comparing faces with majestic portals, then with tall towers, he does not forget about shacks, and miserable, taking them very critically. Who likes an ugly and untidy house? Analysis of the poem "On the beauty of human faces" evokes the memory of the well-known aphorism of another classic who claimed that everything should be beautiful in a person, including a person, not to mention thoughts. It's the thoughts of the people that paint this silvery covering, or saturate it with either heat and light, or immersing the darker world through the gloom. A good psychologist becomes a physiognomist, it is enough for him to look at his face, and he immediately understands who is before him - cunning, a liar or an honest fellow. It's just as easy to distinguish a clever girl from a fool. Probably, Zabolotsky reasoned about the beauty of human faces like this. An analysis of this poem leads to the conclusion that the poet was a good physiognomist.

Age

If you believe the label of the French proverb, in his youth, a man bears the physiognomy received from God, at maturity that which he managed to "make" himself, and in his old age is content with the one that he deserves. The initial external data from the person does not depend, he can be beautiful or not very high or small, but you can and should create your own destiny and relationships with other people. Analysis of the poem "On the beauty of human faces" suggests that it is written by a man not middle-aged. Why? Yes, because in his young years all the adherents to the exterior, so the nature, including sexual, is arranged. Only in maturity people often understand that there are qualities more important than cute. In addition, it is more difficult to read the face without wrinkles. And yet there are people who hide their thoughts stricter than some treasures. Unlike true spiritual "diamond funds," such precautions are taken to ensure that no one learns a terrible secret. In the towers with narrow loopholes and dungeons with bars, an emptiness usually hides. Such are the metaphors applied by the poet in the poem "On the beauty of human faces." The analysis completely corresponds to sad realities. Zabolotsky wrote this poem three years before his death. It was true to him, only 52 years, but hard life usually contributes to the acquisition of a rich life experience.

Whose windows pleased Nikolai Alekseevich?

Comparing someone's face with a "small hut", the poet mentions windows, from which the spring heat flows. The dwelling is defined as unpretentious and not rich. If that (or that) would recognize himself in such a portrait, then perhaps it would cause even a certain insult. Who wants to admit that he is not good? Analysis of Zabolotsky's poem "On the Beauty of Human Faces" allows us to make the assumption that despite the reference to personal experience ("I once knew"), the owner of such beautiful and warm "windows" -the eye will remain unknown to the reader.

Enthusiastic final lines

At the end of the poem, NA Zabolotsky completely abandons the architectural analogies. He is no longer interested in towers, casemates, or majestic palaces - they do not have true beauty, as in pathetic sloppy huts, whose owners do not care about the order and coziness. He just wants to express his opinion about the beauty of human faces. Analysis of the final clearly indicates the upbeat optimistic mood of the author at the time of writing these lines. He is attracted by heavenly heights, radiant notes, sun and joyful songs. It is with such sublime artistic images that the poet wants to compare the most beautiful faces. It is these people he wants to see around.
