Myositis: treatment, symptoms

Probably, every person has at least occasionally experienced a condition in which his muscles are tense, and pain is felt throughout the body. Such unpleasantly-drawing pain appears sometimes after too zealous, but unusual training, a long work in the garden or sitting in an uncomfortable position. This pain was called: myositis.

To be precise, myositis is an inflammation of the muscles of the skeleton. Its cause can be physical overstrain, a long stay in the cold. Sometimes muscle inflammation provokes infectious diseases or colds. Myositis develops in diseases that affect connective tissues: arthritis, lupus, scleroderma, etc. There are cases when the disease caused helminths.

Pain in muscle inflammation can occur after physical exertion, awkward movements. Often, it intensifies at night, when weather changes, during stress, at ordinary touch. Sometimes the pain senses disappear for a time without treatment, but they always return.

Myositis symptoms are given, the treatment of which should be followed immediately, even if after some time the pain decreases.

If the diagnosis of "myositis" treatment should not be, then more serious symptoms develop. Pain, strengthened, passes into muscle weakness. At first there is a feeling that it's difficult to tear yourself away from the pillow in the morning, then it becomes difficult for the patient to move his neck and head. Gradually, it is difficult to climb stairs, the ability to dress independently, to make any movement.

If you do not start treatment, muscle weakness can lead to shortening and muscle dystrophy. This means that the patient can not move independently.

With the diagnosis of "myositis," treatment may end in complete recovery. The lack of treatment leads to the fact that an increasing number of muscles are affected. Myositis can develop into a polymyositis or even more severe form - dermatomyositis, traumatizing a large number of muscles and skin.

If the disease has spread to the neck, it can cause difficulty in swallowing, shortness of breath, coughing, headaches.

Sometimes under the skin may be formed bumps from moles of calcium, delivering a lot of inconveniences and painful sensations. Even worse, if the disease goes into a purulent stage.

If you do not cure acute myositis, chronic treatment will be ineffective, and seizures will periodically return throughout life.

How to treat myositis? Treatment is recommended only under the supervision of a specialist. At the first, acute stage, antibiotics and drugs are usually prescribed, eliminating the cause of the disease. For example, if myositis is caused by helminths, anthelmintic medicines are prescribed. If myositis is caused by autoimmune causes, immunosuppressors are recommended; Medicines that enhance immunity.

In all cases, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ketonal or diclofen are recommended.

When treating myositis, be sure to adhere to a strict diet. During an exacerbation it is impossible to take alcohol, eat spicy (spicy, salty, peppery) food. Benefit will bring vegetables and fruits.

Often physiotherapy, massage, physiotherapy exercises are prescribed.

If myositis begins, treatment with folk remedies or with the help of homeopathy is most likely to be ineffective. However, they can accompany the main treatment if the doctor does not object.

Homeopaths recommend mesotherapy - a method of treatment in which injections of homeopathic drugs are found in biologically active points. It is believed that such injections relieve pain, prevent the appearance of adhesions, improve the microcirculation of liquids. They relieve inflammation, homeopaths are sure, allow cartilage and muscle to regenerate faster.

Traditional medicine recommends rubbing homemade ointments from yolk, turpentine and apple cider vinegar, compresses from horsetail, infusions of fizalisa, cucumber grass.
