The Museum of San Marco

It is worth visiting the Art Museum of Florence San Marco for its architectural value. It consists of the former Dominican Monastery, restored and enlarged to the present size for Cosimo the elder Medici by his beloved architect Michelozzo (1396-1472). In the museum of the history of science there is a large collection of tools in carefully organized breadboard models that serve as proof that Florence's interest in science since the 13th century was as great as interest in art. The Medici and Lorraine were very interested in natural sciences, physics and mathematics, which prompted them to collect precious and visually beautiful instruments along with paintings and other art objects. It is known that Francesco Medici contributed to the conduct of various scientific and artistic studies in the grand duke's workshops, and members of the Medici family in the 17th century defended and personally followed the experiments on physics. The original scientific instruments used by Galileo Galilei are very important. The ticket price is 6,5 euros.

House-Museum of Dante

One of the greatest Italian poets and the father of the Italian language is rightly considered Dante Alighieri, born in 1265 in Florence and baptized in the baptistery of San Giovanni. The most famous of his masterpiece is the "Divine Comedy". The corner of the street, where the Dante house-museum is located in Florence, still retains its medieval charm. It was recreated in 1965 on the occasion of the seventh century from the date of the birth of the poet, whose portrait is engraved on the square in front of the house.
