The museum of local lore Syzran is one of the centers of culture, where a large number of events are held. For children and adults lectures are given, excursion programs are created. Employees of the museum conduct research and scientific activities, collect materials about the fate of citizens, the history of their native land, conduct excursions in the halls of the museum and beyond.

History

The museum of local lore Syzran is based on the agricultural museum of the local technical school. The first exposition dedicated to agriculture and combating drought was opened in 1922. After the successful work of the team of enthusiasts, it was decided to collect documents for the museum of local lore, which had not yet existed, but the idea was in the air. For help in collecting the exhibits appealed to the population through local newspapers.

The case moved slowly, and only in 1924 issued a decree on the establishment of the uyezd-city archive at the Museum of the Local Territory. Local History Museum of Syzran invited visitors to the first excursion in December 1925 in a building along Sovetskaya Street. The first departments were devoted to paleontology, the history of everyday life, industry, etc.

By 1926 the number of departments had expanded, and the collection began to be replenished with several streams. The main visitors of the museum halls were schoolchildren, for whom excursions "Soil Science", "Industry and Crafts", "Agriculture", etc. were conducted.

The modern stage

The museum has existed for more than 90 years. During this time several addresses of location changed, periodically the halls were closed, but the funds were constantly replenished. At the very beginning of the 90s the exposition areas increased due to the organization of branches - the Spassky Tower in the Kremlin and the Exhibition Hall of the city. In 1993, the Museum of Local Lore was closed for a long period in connection with the emergency condition of the premises in which it was located.

The return of the restored building occurred only in 2008, and a new exposition was organized in a year. Now the halls of the museum are in two combined buildings, the construction of which dates back to the second half of the XIX century. Previously, the houses belonged to wealthy townspeople - the families of merchants Lednev and Mityurin. The museum of local lore Syzran carefully preserves the architecture of buildings, executed in eclectic style, both houses are objects of cultural heritage and monuments of architecture.

Description

The Museum of Local Lore (Syzran) is an integral part of the city's history, where many artifacts reflect life in all its manifestations. The permanent exposition contains two main sections: natural science and history and ethnography, as well as thematic exhibitions: "History of the founding of the city of Syzran", "Mine of Kashpira", and an extensive exposition under the general title "Archeology".

The museum funds store more than fifty thousand exhibits. The ethnographic collection consists of 1200 unique items, the archive contains more than 15 thousand documents, photographs reflecting the official history of the city and the private life of individual citizens. The pride of the museum is a collection of coins, they are stored in the asset more than 4 thousand units, of which there are copies of the Golden Horde period, a collection of modern numismatics is presented. The Museum of Local History of Syzran contains in collections the perfectly preserved and the most complete Usolsk collection of the Orlov-Davydov family with a portrait gallery.

At the exhibition halls of the museum you can admire the works of carvers on marble, artistic casting of cast iron according to old technologies, paintings of local masters executed in various techniques, antique porcelain, Old Believer icons and many others. The staff of the museum conducts scientific and research activities. With the participation of the museum, many documentary films were created about the city, its various stages of development, the personalities that made Syzran famous and made many useful things for the city and the county.

Excursions

Local History Museum in Syzran offers visitors a diverse excursion program, both in exhibition halls and outside.

Thematic programs:

1. Museum Universal. We offer a sightseeing tour of all exhibition halls and acquaintance with the peculiarities of the museum business.
2. The natural science section offers more details about the geology, nature, flora and fauna of Syzran region, get acquainted with the collection of fossils and the inhabitants of reservoirs.
3. The historical and ethnographic section of the exposition tells about the history of the region from ancient times, offers to know how and by whom the lands of modern Syzran were inhabited, at what time the city was founded. In this section there is the famous Usolskaya collection of Orlovs-Davydovs, which is of interest not only for the townspeople, but also for professionals.

The main exposition of the museum makes it possible to conduct thematic excursions on more narrow topics, successfully supplementing the school curriculum.

Classes and lectures in the museum

In the Museum of Local Lore, much attention is paid to work with children and young people. Classes, master classes, small lectures, interactive cognitive games, etc. have been prepared for the children's audience.

Schoolchildren are invited to participate in cognitive activities:

• "Visiting the master." A master class is held on some kind of applied art.
• "Invites a pencil". A story about the profession of the artist and a lecture on directions in painting.
• "Frozen plastic." In the classroom they talk about sculptors and the art of creating sculptures.
• A cycle of excursions under the general title "The World of Nature", where children get acquainted with minerals, a paleontological collection, learn a lot about the rivers of Syzran and much more.
• Also schoolchildren are invited to cognitive cycles: "Animals of fairy tales", "Forest Academy", "HLS".

In addition to the school curriculum for geography and history, classes are held with a demonstration of exhibits from the main fund and the reserves. Topics of lectures and classes are very different: Syzran Merchant, Symbols of Russia, Toponymy of Syzran, Russian gatherings, Partisan trails, Letters from Front, and many others. The staff of the museum conducts outreach activities as agreed by the parties.

The staff of the museum loves and knows its city, therefore it is pleased to invite all comers to tour it, to the Spasskaya tower of Syzran Kremlin, along the historical streets of the city and the outskirts of Syzran with themes of travel "Riddle of the Stone Ridge", "Natural Monuments" and others.

Poster

Active educational activities are conducted by the Museum of Local Lore (Syzran). The poster for 2017 is filled with events and interesting cognitive activities, excursions. From March to May 10, an exhibition devoted to the writers of the city took place in the museum - "Word Wizards". Victory Day will be the Day of open doors, everyone can get acquainted with the relics of the war, take part in the thematic program on the territory of the Syzran Kremlin.

May 19 residents and guests are invited to participate in the action "Night at the Museum", within the framework of which an ecological fairy tale "The Chronicles of Lukomorye" will take place. Also on May 19 the exhibition "Small spool, yes roads" opens. Since May 15, everyone interested in the spiritual heritage of N. The exhibition, timed to the Day of Slavonic Writing, opens for a visit on June 13, its title is "Written Sources". The museum is a constant development, active development and archiving of reality. The funds of the museum and today constantly flock to the exhibits. But not only the past lives the Local History Museum (Syzran). The exhibition of robots, held in March 2017, pleased both children and adults. Seventeen two-meter robots-transformers were an exhibition called "RISE OF MACHINES". Visitors were impressed not only by the spectacularity of each specimen, but also by the soundtrack that carried tourists to the world of cinema and fantasy.
