Mstinsky Bridge - a unique engineering structure and the village of the same name

Mstinsky Bridge is a small village in the Novgorod region. The city received its name from the railway bridge of the same name and station. This village is very popular among tourists due to its picturesque nature, favorable ecology and local attractions.

Mstinsky Bridge is one of the most interesting sights of the Malovishersky District

The Petersburg-Moscow railway was put into operation in 1851. This highway was designed "in a straight line" - without taking into account the features of the landscape. The total length of the road at the time of its opening is 604 versts, while the shortest distance between the cities is 598 versts. For this reason, the bridge includes many bridges.

Some of them were a real miracle of engineering thought for their time. For example, the Mstinsky Bridge became the first in our country, built in a caisson way. Its length is about 380 meters, and the height above the water level is about 40 meters. The bridge is built in the upper part of the bend of the deep-water river Msty and thanks to this location it looks even more impressive.

At the end of the XIX century the building was rebuilt. The existing wooden bridge was replaced with iron bridge, which we can observe today. Today, this facility is operational and is included in the high-speed railway. The bridge is protected, and tourists are forbidden to climb it. But everyone can take a picture of an interesting structure from a short distance or go down near it to the river.

Attractions and interesting objects

Mstinsky Bridge and the railway station of the same name, which is located on the part of St. Petersburg, are very popular among tourists. Here the river makes a spectacular turn, and on either side of its channel are endless green meadows. The bridge itself looks unusual and majestic. Unfortunately, you can not pass through this impressive structure. But no less spectacular photos can be done by descending into a ravine near the bridge.

If you are resting on the banks of the Msta River, be sure to visit the church in the village of Bor. It is a historical sight of the XIX century, located not far from the Mstinsky Bridge. Reviews about rest in Malovishersky area

Tourists who want to relax on the river Msty must understand that life in these places is rural. There are no five-star hotels, and even local recreation centers offer rather modest living conditions. If you are used to maximum comfort, look for another option. The Novgorod region is quite large, and it has modern hotel complexes and sanatoriums.

Malovishersky district is a place for a quiet contemplative rest and ecotourism. Here you can enjoy the silence and fresh air. Local residents live here almost the same way as a hundred years ago. In the village there is no central water supply and gas supply, instead of them - wells and imported gas in cylinders. But during the rest you can try real milk, eggs, fresh vegetables and fruits. Village people with a contentment sell their own products for a nominal fee, and sometimes they treat tourists for free.

If you like this kind of rest, be sure to remember how to get to Art. Mstinsky Most (Novgorod region).
