The history of the name of the metro station "Taganskaya"

In 2010, the capital of Russia celebrated a special anniversary - 75 years old metropolitan metro. After the construction of the ring line of the underground was completed in the 1950s, its first section entered service. Moscow, Taganskaya square, is no less famous place than the Republic Square in Paris. The name "Taganka" originated from the old road that led from Moscow through Taganskiye Vorota. There is a point of view that this name came from the Old Russian word "tagan". This was the name of the craft of the majority of people living in the area who made iron tripod supports, on which pots and cooking pots were installed. Streletskie troops carried such tagans with them during their campaigns.
